Hi all. I am looking for a location for pheasant hunting half way between Chicago and Indianapolis metro areas. Have a friend there and would like to meet in the middle for an afternoon hunt

I called New horizons, dusk-to-dawn and bunch of others that are listed on the web and got nothing - phones disconnected, not returning messages or emails, like noone wants my money, or everybody is closed or shut down

looking for something not too far from I-65, 2 hours or less from IL border

Can someone help?

Iroquis River Outfitters - Fantastic place for pheasant hunting. I've hunted there several times. Great "realistic" hunting habitat with lots of tall native grass. The birds are very challenging - much like wild birds - not those tame Chinese chickens one tends to find on a DNR put-and-take hunt.

And yes - despite the name - it's in Indiana. It's just a few miles off I 65 - about an hour south of I 94. And the guy who operates the place is a really cool, down to earth guy.

Give it a try. You won't be disappointed.

yes, I called him, he never returned a call

we ended up going to Sandy Prairie Hunt club - basically a farm owner that grows birds and lets hunters hunt on his fields - about 80 acres - noone else but us, he had no pheasants, but he got chukars and quails - total 14 for 2 people for 4 hours hunting
