Take an evening walk around Christian Park, Emerson Heights or George Washington Park and enjoy our concealed handgun reciprocity. Fun times!

thanks for the tips.......now if only ilinois could follow wisconsins lead I could carry the whole drive here too. I visited the war memorials today and that was pretty awesome to see.

The museum at The Indianapolis Speedway is pretty neat, if you are a car guy.

The Indianapolis Museum of Art has a beautiful park-like area called 100 Acres - it's also free.

May I respectfully disagree with doggy? Ruth's Chris hands down the best steak, shrimp cocktail(oh yes it is!) and martinis in central Indiana. If you're an oyster guy, Oceanaire if you don't mind paying $2.50 per copy. I like the west coast versions.

You are kidding right?

Ruth's crap is not even close to St. Elmo's. The absolute, hands down, worse meal I have ever had was at Ruth's crap. I'm only glad I was not paying for it.

Ruth's crap cannot even match St. Elmo's Shrimp cocktail. The service is much better at St. Elmo's.

Longhorn has better steaks than Ruth's crap.

If you like your steak swimming in butter-to mask the sub par cut of meat- ho-hum sides and lack luster service, then Ruth's crap is for you.

If you like a great steak, with the best shrimp cocktail, generous sides and excellent service that comes from a independent steakhouse, not some chain, then St. Elmo's is what you want.

[b]I was thinking the same, only in reverse.

Having said all of that, Elmo's is a classy-looking joint with a lot of beautiful women.

I have paid and had my meal paid for a St. Elmo's. Each time that I have eaten there, it's been excellent.

I heard all the hype about RC, thinking that it was a top notch steakhouse...not even close. I have eaten a Ditka's, Gene and Georgetti's, Shula's, St. Elmo's, Chicago Cut Steakhouse
...some chains like Morton's...RC comes in way behind them. In fact if someone was paying for my meal and asked me to pick a steakhouse and the choice was either RC or Longhorn, I would go to a Longhorn before RC.

But, hey, if you like RC..to each their own. It just did not live up to the hype.

I'd vote for the steaks you cook on your grill. You'd bury the steakhouses.
