Pepper Spray in DC?
Can anyone explain the legality of carrying pepper spray in Washington, D.C.?
I know if you buy it in the District, it has to be registered. What if you buy pepper spray in Virginia, live in Virginia, and carry it into D.C.? I can't seem to find a clear answer on this.

Thanks in advance.
You can buy it anywhere, but must be a resident of DC to possess it. It must also be registered at HQ prior to use.

Being a DC officer, I recently tried to get my wife's OC spray registered (We recently moved to MD from DC) and was shot down pretty quick. Gotta love it.
You're a DC police officer? They won't let nonresidents have pepper spray? That is some horseshit. "Come to our city, spend your tourism dollars, get assaulted because of our shitty economic and personal defense policies."
It really is more pathetic than you know. I will write more a little later, but it really is a matter of how repetition and erroneous beliefs inbed themselves into communities long term. It really is what the people want. The majority of the citizens are afraid of guns and the like and want more Gov't control. You get what you ask for. It does seem like the tides are turning a little though.
