Little known must see in D.C.?
I am heading to Washington D.C. on Sunday with my 21 year old daughter. Are there any little known must see sites in the area. She is an Art History major.
Here is what she want to do so far:
Museum of Crime and Punishment
Spy Museum
National Archives
Library of Congress
Top of Washington Monument
Ford theatre
National Zoo
I'm sure she has some other things in mind, but I would like to do something that tourists are not readily aware of.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
The National Aquarium in the lower level of the Department of Commerce Building on 14th Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Constitution Avenue NW.
Dumbarton Oaks
The Octagon Museum
United States Botanic Garden (awesome bonsai collection)
The "Exorcist" house in Georgetown
National Cathedral
Check out the Corcoran too.
Washington has art museums out the ass.
How was the trip? I would have also recommended the National Building Museum and the Newseum, although that one is not free.
