FYI - they dropped the Sunday class.

FIRST EVER Live Video-cast defensive firearms training event utilizing the six amazing new facilities that Gander Mountain has built around the country.

Guess I should have made it clear I don't work for GM or Rob or even in the industry. I'm just a consumer that wanted to pass some info along!

So, this is a virtual class led by Rob? kind of late notice, but it sounds like it's worth the price of admission to be sure. Anyone attending, please post an AAR.

not sure about this one. 6 locations with 24 students overseen by a pincus trained instructor and video conferencing with Rob himself. Seems like a great way of leveraging the name of a well known instructor and making some money without really getting much attention from the well known instructor. All for the bargain price of $200. would be interested in what actaul attendees have to say.

I was able to attend at the last minute.

Overall I really enjoyed the class. This was an intro course on the basic concepts and skills of Dynamic Defensive Handgun and how to train to improve those skills. This was the very first time this type of virtual class has been done and even with the few technical bugs I'd recommend it. I wasn’t sure going in but It exceeded my expectations. GM & Rob were very interested in the feedback to make improvements where needed.

The Gander Academy instructors had all just attended Rob's instructor course so they were all well versed in his methods. via a live remote Rob gave theory and initial instruction on specific methods before each range session. Whatever may have come up either during Rob's presentations or during the range sessions we were able to ask questions of Rob for explanations or clarifications (the most valuable part of the course). Rob shared with us his equipment recommendations and why – some of the reasons actually showed up on the range. He also explained why some of his thinking on both equipment and training has changed over the years. The were 2 live fire sessions (300 rounds) and one V-Range session all after the classroom session. The range session began at close quarters and moved back, and were very safely conducted. Balance of speed and precision, movement and why they are important. The V-Range session they were able to set up a scenario which added stress – great practice! There were several trainers during the range sessions so you almost got 1 on 1 coverage. The debrief session at the end also was very informative.

This course is making me rethink my carry strategies. If they offer a “next level” class I will take it, yes pricey but a good value considering I didn't have to travel anywhere and the instructors were well trained.

FYI - I don't work for Rob or GM.

I had no idea the price was $200. I am glad you had a good class, dronning, but I am with biga_mn on this one. I would (and have) paid $200 to see Rob in person but wouldnt' pay that much for a "virtual" class.

The virtual classroom is a way for people to get access to his training that couldn't afford to travel AND pay $200. I'm a little jaded, 90% of my meetings are now conducted virtually and after being on the road as much as 3 weeks at a time, I prefer it.

Agreed the pricepoint was a little high, but for me seeing Rob in person has no additional value, other than to be able to say I have met him. We had access and direct feedback to our questions from Rob, to me this was worth the maybe extra 50 bucks this class may have normally cost. They would get more participants at a better pricepoint, even more if it was free. I'd rather they keep the class size smaller. Rob & GM are going to have to work out the pricepoint balance and still make it worth their while, if they decide to continue them.

If you are going to post anymore classes in the future, you are going to have to get the "Trainer" Icon

That's the way it works in the virtual world

Sorry, I'm not a trainer just a participant doing a AAR asked for. I'll keep it to myself.
