Century International arms FAL style weapon To buy or not to buy?

A local gunshop has a CIA Fal Style weapon with wood stock and grip... I appears to be a carbine length gas system with metric reciever for 400 bucks...

Is this a good deal - It is used btw...

Only fear for $400 is that something is wrong with it. CAI has had some issues with their builds as everyone knows. Look up widows peak and unibrow recievers then check it out. Not trying to jump in on the sale, just curious for area prices, where abouts are you located?

Heck, for $400 I'd give it a shot... Assuming it looks like everything checks out.
It's been a while since I've noticed a parts kit for that price.

Everyone needs an FAL

Like the other guys said, CAI can be hit or miss. I always thought they were on inch receivers with metric parts?

In the past that's true... But the recent ones I've seen come through the shop are actually quite nice.

Well it wasn't new... So maybe it was a hit or miss older one... I talked to the old lady about it and she wants me to wait after christmas to buy anything.... So i might just have to wait. The gun will be long gone by then, but o well. Century guns is guess retail for around 600 new from what i gathered so... 200 dollar difference isn't really that large in my opinion so i might just wait and maybe pull a trigger on a new one after x-mas
