I'm MOVING :-) .... need insight into life in northeastern KY

My time here in Pike county is finally DONE as of either the end of this month or the middle of June.. I am looking to relocate myself and my family to either ::
Johnson County
Lawrence County
Greenup County
Carter county
Elliot County
Boyd County
Before the move, I would like to get some insight into life in these counties.. If you live in any of these five counties listed above, please share your experiences with me... What I am looking to find out are things such as :::
Is where you live a high crime area ?
Is there a lot of theft or drug use in your area?
Are people more laid back or down to earth in your area ?
Is where you live "gun friendly"?
Is where you live "business friendly" ? (I own my own business
)
Are there any local shooting ranges or "backwoods" 4 wheeler trails where a person could go shoot anything (legal) that they wanted without raising attention from locals or the police?
The reason I am asking these questions is because I am moving from Pike county - which unfortunately I have to say is quite literally "crime central" in eastern Kentucky.. I honestly have to say that the last eight or so years here have sucked largely because of the amount of crime in my area and I am wanting to move into an area where there is less crime.. I know there's crime / dope / thieves everywhere you turn nowadays, but is there anywhere that is decent and doesn't have problems such as those very much???
What I am looking for is just some "hole in the wall" community outside of city limits to just drop myself and my family into in order to escape Pike county... Any and all help is appreciated..

I grew-up in Greenup.
Crime is/was average.
There is are 4 private ranges in Boyd and Greenup Co that I know of. 2 are cheap.
Plenty gun friendly.
I have to assume it is business friendly. I have not owned a business so I do not really know how to answer that.
