 Are the Louisville libraries posted?

Topic says it. I've got a few meetings to attend at the local libraries and I'd prefer to be legally carrying when I go.

Yes, they have a "No Weapons" sign on the door with the outline of a Beretta 92 with a slash through it.

Does it matter?

I've seen the city post such signs in their parking garages. Many have the ordinance numbers written so strangely, one would have a rough time tracking down the correct ordinance. It is of importance to me. My townhouse in downtown Louisville assigns additional parking in a city garage across the stress. I won’t pay to be banded. Screw that. Well, as it turns out. The city ordinance has an exemption for parking used with a residence. Also, the garage connects to a hotel. So, they better have some exemption. Primary, it is focused on city employees. In any case, the ordinance reads something to the effect of, “You better not or we will ask you to leave. Oh, and you could encounter a fine … of something like $25.”

Now, that is the Louisville city ordinance. I would not sweat it. It isn’t like alcohol is sold there, such as Turfway Park Race Track or 4th Street Live at times.

My concern is based on a few things
- I'm active politically and charitably, having to deal with a carry issue takes time away from doing genuinely good work
- The library is a convenient place to have productive meetings, I would prefer not to be kicked out
- A library is a place where there are children and educational things it might be under one of those magical gun free zone signs that keeps the boogey men out. This may run afoul of KRS 822 and federal law. I need to re-read those and be sure
- I dont recall if the Louisville libraries are governmental or not

Concealed means concealed, what they don't know, won't hurt you.

The worst they can do is ask you to leave, it's not like you'll be banned forever from going to the library. Unless there is a correct & proper sign posted, citing the correct KRS code information, I will carry concealed and not worry about it (unless the library now sells alcohol).
