Has anyone been? Coming up next weekend, thinking about making the the trip. The flyers say 2000 tables so it's bigger than Kenny Woods, it's gotta be better. Just curious if anyone's been before?

If you think Kenny Woods shows are good then yes,you need to go.Quite a few of the same people are there but many more from out of state.More Fudd guns but it is the best show in the state whether you like it or not.
Many will disagree but its the truth.I had heard for years of the legendary Indy 1500 and how awesome it was and how big etc.So I went to the last one.Its a terrible venue, poorly lit, terrible part of town, stood outside for an hour to get in,paid more for parking and to get in than it costs in Louisville, tables were about 3 feet apart which sucked to look at anything, restrooms were awful, everything was high,3 hours away, and it was no bigger. So thats my review of the Indy 1500.You compare.

I went. It's worth going. If you like going to the other shows than you will definately like this one. Just be prepaired to stay all day because you won't be able to see everything if you don't.

I went to the last Louisville show and there are more hunting rifles than anything. If you like Marlins and Winchesters you'll be in hog heaven. Oh there's a lot of tables with memorabilia type stuff which you have to filter through, as well as displays of collections that aren't for sale which is a total waste of floor space. Don't forget to swing by the jerky hut and get a sample lol.

National Gun Day is a big show, probably one of the biggest that louisville has.

It is also in conjunction with the OVMS SHOW OF SHOWS (which starts on Thursday). A lot of the patrons of the SHow of Shows come from all over the world as it is now one of the biggest militaria shows in the country. The out of towners usually hit the Show of Shows on Thursday and Friday and then go to the gun show on Saturday/Sunday. Some of the dealers pack up from SOS and go to Gun show those days as well. I will be taking friday off work to go to SOS and maybe come back sunday for gun show.

Tons and tons of things to see. If you try to go to both in one day...you will be worn out.

Horrible show. Over priced everything. You will find better deals on the internet forums than you will there.

I have not gone to a NGD in 3 years and I know I aint missing a thing.

prices are higher than gun shop retail. Lots of nylon holsters and slings. Lots of beef jerky, fake watches, etc. Lots of German Luger- Nazi collectible dealers. My favorite is the douche that has a rack of Lugers set up with the handles facing you and a small sign that says 'go ahead and touch the Luger you'll have to buy for touching'
Lots of ammunition, too, marked up higher than any gun shop...
If you have ALL day to wander around, and you're not looking for anything in particular, you may stumble on a deal for a used gun. Probably not though. The last one I went to looking for an Armscor 1911. Found a used one. Guy wanted $475 for it. -For a USED 1911 I can buy all day for under $400.

Let's be honest, there are a number of people that are overpriced, like most gun shows. However, there are also shops that set up there that are reasonably priced. You find folks like J&T, Smoking Guns, Quantico, Sherwoods, and so on. There are usually several black rifle parts dealers there with prices comparable to what you get stuff on line. I usually go and pick up a bunch of AR parts and sometimes find a good priced used gun from one of the bigger dealers.

There are usually enough big dealers to compete ammo wise so that you can get a decent price. At least better than gun shops and not too far off from ordering. As always, you have to be willing to look around and comparison shop. Lots of table of everything but lots of old rifles that I don't know who cares about.

I mostly go to hit the reloading tables for components. This
time around I'll be on the look out for some 110gr .30 carbine
stuff.

And if they ask you at the front door for your E-mail, for their "News Letter". Don't do it! By the time I got home that afternoon, my Inbox was full of Spam.

Be warned that the Carl Casper Custom Auto Show is also there as well, so you may wish to take that into account when planning.

Anytime, you guys are good to deal with and usually have the best prices on pmags with that discount you ran last year (hope I can get it again).

I would do more business with you all if you allowed trading towards some of your weapons.

If you get there before the guys at the entrance booth, then
its free parking. Otherwise, its a fucking rip off.

There were deals. I was manning the tables myself but a buddy of mine bought a p7m8 for 1000 and turned around and made mOney on it! Good stuff. About everything you could want I guess? You just gotta look around.

Saw you for a split second in the crowd. But table was busy as could be and I couldn't get away to chat. That's a good thing.

I was really surprised at the dealers that were there that aren't normally in attendance. Dennis Todd and DSA made their first appearances. Seemed like a larger number of bulk ammo sales (i.e. large amounts of Wolf in case lots). Larger number of NFA dealers than usual. Could it be that " If we can't get your money at Knob Creek in April, we'll get it at National Gun Day in February, Kentucky residences." I hadn't been in a couple of years and enjoyed the show today.

Some of the dealers told me that since knob creek was cancelled they came to this. Some of them said they never do gun shows but had lots of inventory piled up for KCR and had to get rid of it. I hope they did well and will continue to come back. I bought some ammo from some of them.

Myself and a buddy got some pretty good deals from DSA, and we also picked up some powder while we was there.
