Please explain to me how an elected official (court judge) can tell another elected official (constable) that shooting a shoplifter is not right. I guess Whitlock pissed off the wrong elected officials (Metro councilmen); makes metro Louisville look to rural.

when the elected official (constable) has no common sense or knowledge of the law as it pertains to the use of deadly force, and has repeatedly ignored and disobeyed the laws that govern his elected position, then another elected official (judge) has to step in to enforce the rules.

Why would you shoot a shoplifter in the first place?

Constables should be done away with in KY anyways.

The videos from Wally World will put him in prison. He lied to every investigator about what happened.

What retard even pulls a weapon on a suspected shoplifter? I guess the same idiot that doesn’t know how to keep his finger off the trigger. I'm also having trouble seeing how you "accidently" shoot someone twice. I think this guy is a moron who thought he was more than he is and the only injustice towards him here is that someone nearby didn’t shoot him in defense of the shoplifter.

As for your question; checks and balances. I’m not sure why your upset about it but it’s what keeps cops from beating you till you say what you want, or coincidently, keeps some asshole from shooting you for shoplifting.

I know its petty but from alot of angles he looks exactly like Farva from Super Troopers (Best movie ever).

What exactly is the point of a constable?

Depends on the county. Some counties they just serve papers. Other counties they direct traffic during certain events or stand in the middle of an intersection with bucket and sign asking for donations.

Of course if you were to ask on that question they would say they are the most important thing in KY law enforcement.

Two bills have been filed to do away with the position of Constable in Kentucky counties. If HB240 and/or SB30 do get approval in the General Assembly a constitutional amendment would be placed on the November ballot to let voters decide if the post of constable should stay or go.
