HELP! I'm in Texas and need a divorce attorney in Maine (Aroostook County)
Short version: I got married in 1986 while in the Air Force and stationed at Loring AFB, lots of stuff happens in between, retired from the Army in Texas in 2009. Stayed in Texas for greater employment opportunities. Been having major marital problems for a long time. Wife moved back to Maine June 2011 leaving me with my 16 year old son (now 17) and 21 year old daughter (now 22 and a full time student). Apparently she's been there long enough to establish residency and on February 17th I was served divorce papers by a county sheriff's deputy here in Texas.
I talked with a lawyer down here, actually his assistant, and was told that they are not licensed to practice in Maine and I need to hire an attorney up there. Anyone know of a good and inexpensive divorce attorney in Aroostook County? Would prefer he or she be in the Caribou or Presque Isle area. And yes, I know that "good" and "inexpensive" don't usually go together but hey I can hope right? Any other information or advice would also be appreciated. I have to reply to the court by March 7th.
