Any reason you wouldn't just buy one online?

Most stores have the conversion kits from CMMG.

These just throw .22s down the .223 barrel, these are not true Rimfire uppers.

Would like to check them out before buying and if I can get it right now without waiting a week or 2, the better Dan as you said "just throwing 22 down a 223 barrel" is no fun. I want accuracy Also already own a CMMG stainless conversion kit with 3 Black Dog Mags

There was a really nice dedicated rifle on the EE not too long ago. It may still be there if you sift back far enough on state search. I believe it was a CMMG.

Yeah, I hear great things about CMMG and also they have the most options out there for 22 AR's. I also have been reading good things about the DPMS 22 bull barrel version that has been shooting for 1/2 inch groups at 50 yds but is a different animal internally. Heard it looks like a Nordic bolt which some say is like a 10/22 bolt I think CMMG is 330 plus shipping and the DPMS is 400 plus shipping. Plus I have to have the lug taken off and a brake pinned on the CMMG, so they come out to be about the same price. Damn those evil features

I've got a factory CMMG M4 .22 upper. I love it and it runs great. Where you from? Depending on location I'd be up for letting you try it out, I've had no issues with the accuracy, but I've also never compared it to my Anshultz.

Do those still use the ejector equipped magazines like the old Colt and DPMS conversions?

If so, you are effectively stuck with 10 rounders for now. BDM came out with a high-cap, but at least the one I got is not reliable AT ALL. The problem is with the metal lips.

No, this is a whole new revamped line they came out with just a few months ago. I guess they had a lot of trouble with the Colt style bolts and went with Nordic (can not remember the whole name) style bolt. There is some write ups on it in the AR rimfire section where a guy ran a test of every type of 22 ammo he could get his hands on and it ate everything with out a problem out of the box
