Used to be able to shoot at the Busque pit not even a mile up the road on 302, can't now for reasons that are obvious to anyone who lives in the area. Other than the Falmouth Rod & Gun Club on route 100, does anyone know a good place to shoot (club, field, pit, etc) within maybe 15-20 miles of Windham? TIA

ever have cops show up when you are shooting there?

i own an abutting property that i'll be moving to in the spring. i fully intend to set up my own little range and shoot when i can. coming from a place that shares 1 sheriff's deputy with the surrounding 4 or 5 towns, and going to a place like windham, i fully expect the police to show up the first time i let off a burst of MG fire.

I've only been a few times, and only with the owner and some other people in his party. Basically I was in the right place at the right time, and was told to come on up when I hear shooting. Windham is pretty laid back in that manner, but I'm guessing that if it sounded like we were filming a sequel to Saving Private Ryan we might get a visit LOL

Haven't shot there since I moved a few years ago, but there's a 200+ meter pit at the end of the Station Rd. in Otisfield (find it on Google map). It's a private pit but the landowner lets anyone shoot there. Just pick up after yourself and don't dig the hills up with ATVs. The gate is at the end of the Station Rd after you drive past the town transfer station. If the gate is closed you can access it by driving on the pipeline before you turn onto to the Station Rd. IM me if your interested and I'll give you my name to drop in case anyone asks. The landowner lives close by. The guy who works at the transfer station can tell you where he lives in case you want to ask him yourself.

You can come up to Auburn to androscoggin fish and game club. We have steel plate shoots every saturday morning, Sundays they have skeet. www.acfga.net

I appreciate the help, the last time I was shooting was probably 2 years ago in a small sandpit in Biddeford but I doubt there was even 100m to play with there. Wintertime is generally the busiest time of year for me at work, but I'll have to make time to get out and do some shooting.
