Please excuse the crappy pic, screen capture from my latest "Tactical News" email from Sig, in the orange banner. Wonder if they'd ever open it up to the public for a fee other than one of their courses?

Interesting! competitions would be another thought.

I sold my long range rifle because of nowhere to shoot it. It still wouldn't reach 1000 yards though. That, or even 800 is a whole different ball game.

I have a couple Sig connections. I will look into this.

ETA: Email sent.

I'd like to know if this range will be able to handle 50bmg. As a member of the FCSA this would be great if they could hold matches there.

Update: Got in touch with my buddy...basically said the range wouldn't be open the general public, but is designed for Sig Academy classes.

He also mentioned the Sig is looking to move to a new location in 2012. Nothing too Earth shattering...but a move none the less. Possibly to the Pease Trade Port.

You can shoot .50 BMG in the Manchester Firing Line, sure it's only an indoor pistol range but their trap is rated for it.

Would Epping and Exeter facilities both be moved to one location?

Not sure...he didn't specify. He'll be over for dinner I think next week. I'll try and get some intel then.

What a waste not even having a public shoot once a month.

I'd be willing to pay to shoot there once in a while.

Ditto. I am trying to build a 1000 (or at least 800) yard rifle. It would be nice to not have to fly to my dads in AZ to shoot it.

My question is where can they fit a thousand yard range over in epping? haha doesnt see like there is that much space between there and 101

UPDATE:
Sig is about 100% they are moving to the Pease Trade Port in 1Q 2012.

1,000 yard range is is almost certainly a go.

Sig has got some cool stuff coming out this winter for SHOT show.

So if memory serves from a class I took, 101 would be to the right in that picture right? Should run parallel to that shooting lane.

Of course I am assuming this is Epping and not the new facility they are opening next year.

A couple of my instructors were at Sig doing their recert, and they got to shoot on it, they were just firing into the berm with no targets, but they said it was pretty impressive

Thank you for this. I never thought to even check this out. I'll be in Manchester Friday night to see some friends including an instructor who recently left SIG. I'll have to chat him up about this. I would really like to take my .338 LM/.408 CT EDM rifle to the thousand yard class but probably would be better served with the 3 day tactical rifle class with my DTA SRS or LT OBR. I'm pretty stoked. Thanks again.
