been wanting to upgrade the bathroom or patio/deck and I can't decide if I want to whirlpool it or hot tub it.

I know a whirlpool runs like a bath tub and a hot tub is like a pool (maintenance etc) you sit in.

so ya'll in the know give me some pro's and con's of each.

I never could figure why someone would want to stew in their own juice

Be patient and watch craigslist. People give the things away if you will just haul it away. We had one and got tired of the electricity bills.

We just put a Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Not quite as social as a full size hot tub but quite relaxing for one person. Throw in a auto-change led colored bulb and some Loreena Mckennit and it's really nice. That being said I would like to have a full size hot tub in an enclosed gazebo type building.

And you can pick up broken ones that people don't use or don't want to fix. If you do, I'll help you fix it if you can't do it yourself. Electrically, that is.

hell I'm not planning on sitting in it by myself; sitting in them by yourownself is how people drown in them.

Dude, a used hot tub? Really? Might as well buy used underwear

You DO know what people do in them, right? Not enough bleach in the world to get that out

looked at a couple of them on home depot's site; the corner "garden" tub would fit the bill just right if that's the route we decide to go; but I'm thinking out back would be better because I really don't want to take out the wall between my bedroom and the master bath; but even then it'd still be cheaper than the hot tub set up.

no problems with basic plumbing and electricity; heat/hvac or carpentry/cabinetry; hell I even know a little bit about bondo/fiberglass.

hell I guess I should just type that I know a little bit about the above subjects to cost me a hell of a lot of funding when I fuck it up

that's along my line of thinking; kind of like sleeping on a used mattress or in a hotel room.
