Warner has got to go. Has any viable candidate announced yet?

Probably someone who has lost between 2008 and 2013.

Great! I hope not but the way the GOP works, I'm afraid you're probably right.

We did not earn the nickname the 'stupid party' for nothing.

Prefer "gun toting, stupid, shoot yourself in the foot" party. Kinda funny and ironic.

No, seriously guys.. Anyone hear an actual name yet?

EDT: I'd really like us to stop the US Senate seats as having "been a VA Governor" as a prerequisite. Somewhere in the Commonwealth we have our own Ted Cruz, surely.

My guess is that Bob McDonnell will run against Warner next year.

If this Rolex/Wedding$$ scandal doesn't bring him down.

Probably the safest establishment bet right now.

Which functionally means he is going to lose bad.

I liked McDonnell as a governor, but not any more. All these gifts from these businesses. Daughters wedding being paid for. Wife out there pan handling for a Rolex. He should be done.

Bolling would be an option. Cantor, Forbes or one of the other Representatives maybe. I think they wont say anything about it until after November.

Here are the three finalists:

Bob McDonnell is slowly self destructing.

His political future is likely hovering around zero at this point.

"Vote for me, I take gifts" is nothing to campaign with.

Yeah, I had high hopes for McD, but it looks like another six years of dickless.

I didnt hear much about that. I figured the media had just lied as usual and made a mountain out of a molehill. I guess we will be screwed then. Cantor might run but that would bring the full force of the liberals foaming at the mouth craziness.

Right now, yes, maybe we'll pull a rabbit out of our hat... I just don't get it, in 2012 & 2014 it appeared like a gift to the party but it continues to stumble.

I figured the McDonnell stuff as a hit piece, but what do I know!

At this point, the Republican party seems determined to do everything in it's power to make sure it doesn't regain power, so who knows?!?!?

I don't understand why the Republicans are so determined to fail.

Bolling is the best bet, which means the Republican party will not run him. Randy Forbes may be viable if he can throttle back his recent embrace of extreme social conservative issues and stick to his strengths, which is bringing business to VA and his chairmanship of some Armed Services subcommittees. Cantor is a guarantee Warner reelection, his running will ensure huge amounts of out-of-state money and support flowing to Warner and he will be crushed on a scale unseen in VA politics, which will probably also result in the end of his goverment career. Cantor is a marked man for the Democrats.
