Police escorting bus in Leesburg?

I work beside wegmans and we saw a bus with probably 8 police cars and motorcycles escorting and blocking off roads. Anyone know what it's all about?

They came ripping through Reston about 30-45 minutes ago. Motorcyles blocked off the entrance from my building onto Sunset Hills and all those buses, several LEO SUVs, motorcycles came ripping through. Weird.

Was it this bus, which I saw on GW Parkway yesterday? Maybe the Beebster is in town!

They are still parked at Cobb theater I think

The route it has been taking has been all over the place. I've seen the same sort of bus escorts past.

Today after going east on Sunrise Valley, north on Wiehle, over to and through Reston Town Center, some roundabout way through Herndon, west on Frying Pan, north on Rt28, east on 606, a bunch of roads through western Sterling, east on Nokes, through Loudoun Tech Center and then west on 7. I stopped paying attention after I though I heard it stopping somewhere just west of Rt28 but I didn't think it had made it to Leesburg.

When I worked in Rosslyn I would see buses being escorted by police all the time. Usually they would stop at Iwo Jima memorial and a bunch of older veterans would get out.

Possibly related to Police Week.

Could be some Guardsmen coming home. We always got police escorts when I came home. Also possibly police week as GlockSlap said. I assisted in traffic control yesterday morning getting Police Unity Tour started and Law Enforcement United through my city.

I work on the greenway, they came blasting through the mainline plaza making all kinds of uncle ruckus.

What is police week?

Probably not the same thing, but the local exit to 81 south was closed by police this morning.

It's like Memorial Day for the military. Basically, but there's sort of a week long thing too, not just one day.

If you have never been, I would suggest attending the Candle Light Vigil. It is at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in D.C.
I have 2 friends on the memorial and the vigil is beautiful.

Loudoun County Sheriff's Dept. will go full retard escorting Redskins team buses to their Ashburn training facility...

They're filled with the spouses and children of law enforcement who died in the line of duty. They usually stay closer to Reagan National but this year they're staying in a Hotel near Dulles Airport. They bring the kids to different activities in the area to offset the emotional stress invariably caused by attending the memorial services in DC. Yesterday I was held up in traffic as the procession passed. Sad to say there was an awful lot of tour buses passing at least 12 by my count. Wow my allergies are making my eyes tear all of a sudden.

That might explain the 7 or 8 state cops I passed....in Leesburg which has town cops....as well as County Cops.....I just thought it was shift change or something. It was on Sycolin.

With Loudoun County's reputation to over react for nearly everything....don't feel like you missed anything.

Fraud, Waste, and Abuse?

I'm pretty sure Loudoun county gets paid for that, big time. All escort duties localities get paid for, except for probbaly stuff like parades.
