An hour+ now, overflights, overflights, I can hear it up near the airport, back and forth....WTH?
Tempted to try out the anti-aircraft missiles next....

All nice and quiet here in the aircraft department. Must be the fact that you live on THAT side of 81... You know, closer to the cesspool known as Washington DC. 81 is kinda like a moat. Keeps the riff raff out of the REAL America.

Might be...but the wind comes from the West around here...and the smell is unbearable at times.

By the rotor sounds, Huey or similar. Didn't have the Dauphin or NOTAR sound. Definitely not shithook, crashhawk or the like. Spent most of it's time towards the airport but between here and there, and did a lot of hovering and ups/downs by the sounds of it.

Was raining during most of the noise. Not sure, wondered if someone was missing from bedcheck at ERJ.
Just got annoying with the constant noise. I don't get that much noise from the C5's, so I know it wasn't that far away.

They did have a larger sized, 2-engine, jet,.. and no, not the C5s or even a C130, that was doing touch and goes today out there. Maybe the helo is related to this...

Could be power company inspecting lines or doing surveying? We had a Loach hover right past our building in Reston last year as they were inspecting lines. It was pretty cool.

I know there was a DHS/CBP Huey flying around somewhere yesterday evening. Landed back at Manassas around 2045. They've got two of them based there along with some Eurocopters.

Plain black with gold stripe Huey belongs to DHS built in 1973.
