Hey all,

I tried Wal-Mart at Fair Lakes, but no dice. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good source in NOVA to get lamp oil. I'd like to stock up a bit on my supply. I've read some suggestions online to use the ultra-pure stuff instead of regular kerosene in oil lamps, but I have not tried kerosene. Open to any suggestions on here though.

Thanks!

Nichols Hardware in Purcellville has it. I bought some in September to fill my lamps for the winter.

Have you tried K-1 kerosene. K-1 is clear and not dyed.

K1 can still be died. thats just the grade of it. pure paraffin is your best choice. check your local ACE hardware and also any stores like big lots you might get lucky.

Not sure if there is a Tractor Supply up there, but that's where I bought it last year. I just looked at the bottle, and it is Lamplight brand, Ultra Pure Parafin. Do not quote me, but I believe I paid $4.99 for the 32 oz. bottle. I may be wrong about that, but somehow that number is stuck in my head. They had plenty, and in clear, green, or red.

The nearest TSC is in Leesburg near 7&15 on the other side of the highway from the Outlet Malls.
