Are there any rifle ranges around Hampton Roads that are safe and reasonable places to shoot? I've been shooting pistols up at The Marksman in NN this summer, but would really like to dust off the ole M&P15.

If you hold a Military ID or DoD CAC Card (Or know someone that could escot you in and shoot with you), then you could always shoot @ Camp Allen Weapons Range

A&P is not safe or resonable, plus they force you to buy their rifle ammo each time you go to shoot. No bulk ammo purchase. With today's prices no fucken way.

OP, if your in Norfolk or Va Beach and want to shoot rifle shooting go to C2 shooting center. They let you use your own ammo.

Yea I don't care for A&P, but BIG thumbs up for The C2 Shooting Center. I actually got a 1 year membership and go at least every other weekend. Great range and the guys who work there are pretty cool too. I drag friends along with me all the time to introduce them to shooting. It's a lot of fun.

Over off of Rt. 17 in York County turn right onto Dare Road. You will find Lafayette Gun Club. I am not a member as they are not accepting new members. Members can bring guests in to shoot for free. 24/7 indoor pistol range, and then I think they have a 50 and 100 meter outdoor range. Anyone else on here a member? Two of the guys I work with are members. We live about 10 minutes away.

rc109a is a range officer there, and organized an ARFCOM shoot last month, had about 15 guys show up. Probably do another one.

There are about 185 people on the waiting list to join. They're going to open membership again soon, and are going to take active duty and LEO's first, according to Fran in the office. As I understand it, they're supposed to have 1500 members, and the board decided to cap it at 1800. They have around 1900 right now. Of course, all that is second hand, and I could be wrong.

There are 25, 50 and 100 yard ranges, a shotgun range, and indoor range which is open 24 hours. They have a good junior's program too. You don't have to be a member for your kids to shoot. Just bring them any Friday night around 5:30 or 6:00 for orientation. The first week is free, then $3.00 per kid each week after that to cover the cost of ammo.

ETA: I'm gone for about the next month, but after that, anyone wants to shoot is welcome to join me. Only thing is I usually shoot on weekday afternoons to avoid crowds. Drop me an e-mail if you want to go.

I'll be going out to C2 sometime after 8/1 once I get my Aimpoint T-1 and some other parts I'm waiting on. I'll be shooting pistol and Carbine. Colt 3'' and M&P15T

I would be interested in another shoot in August, but my dates will be severly limited. I might considr taking the range on the 28th of July from 1500-dusk, but that depends on the boss and her plans...lol

I'm hoping they will take me as a member but I stopped in two months ago and was told they were not accepting. I'm retired military and currently work for DOD on the Counter IED problem. I'm patient and will shoot as a guest until that time comes.

Shoot...I'm still building my SBR anyway. Probably won't be able to get it all put together with the approved tax stamp until November.
