Do they ever stop doing construction in Reno?

When I first moved here my neighbor told me "Reno has two seasons, winter and construction." Haven't they been working on the 80 at 395 for years now?

The state mascot is the orange traffic barrel. Didn't you get that in the welcome packet?

It never ends. I think they are having Micheal J Fox do the restriping on it too.

For all of the road work, they can never seem to get the roads to line up either. Peckham and Neil, Mill and Kietzke, and now portions of S. Virginia now have a few FEET of offset for the same lanes on either side of the intersections. I can't wait to see the disaster the Moana widening project turns out to be.

No joke, the lines are so wobbly it's got to be some kind of mistake. It's actually difficult to drive on. Like what the fuck where they thinking and who approved this?

That was one of the first things I noticed when I got here. I am not exactly worldly but I have never seen anything like it and it is all over the place

When I first moved here I noticed that to. I'll be at a stop light, then when it turns green I have to swerve over to stay in my lane.

Props to NDOT: I am always amazed that they could take the I80/395 interchange and make the spaghetti bowl WORSE than it was.

Hey, don't forget us down here in Carson city. When I moved here they had just started the 395 bypass project.....that was a bit over 10 years ago. I think they have a little over 3 miles done so far.
It's called,"The Egyptian Method" of road construction, one stone at a time.

Construction through all of college, moved away for 6 years, moved back and same construction appears to be present. I think the road construction people have pretty good job security

No, it never, ever, ends. I have lived in Lemmon Valley since 1980, and I came to Reno in 1976, so I know how the road work is. I remember going through Reno in 1964 with my parents on a classic Chevy Chase 'vacation', station wagon and all. My Dad was pissed when we got to Reno because all the roads downtown were torn up, so we didn't even stay over night and drove on through.
