Another awesome Duracoat project by our own Flamethrower !!!
Just thought I'd share....
First is my daughter's .22L dedicated AR. Spikes ST-22 upper with a Plum Crazy lower. She wanted hot pink and the photo doesn't do it justice.
Before we picked it up Flame had told me that he really hoped she liked the hot pink as, and I'm quoting him, "It's so bright you can see it from space."
If you look at this gun outside in the sunlight for about 3 seconds and then close your eyes.... you can still see the pink...it burns itself into your retinas!
The EOTech is a clone. Seriously, I have to draw the line at painting a real EOTech pink. Daughter loves it. Never have to worry about finding her on the
line at a shoot.
Next up is a 20" Remington 870 police magnum that I had the metal done in flat black. The gun originally had wood furniture that was scuffed and
marked up pretty good from it's days riding around in a squad, but the mechanicals were in very good shape. The metal components showed a little
"squad love rash", too, and had a mottled dark OD-greenish-parkerized tint. I disassembled the whole thing, added a +2 extension, and Flame did his
magic on the metal. Haven't decided on a red dot optic yet and I'm thinking of replacing the CAA CBS stock with a Magpul MOE. This one actually
started out with finding the CAA stock/pistol grip combo at a steal of a deal from a CAA dealer selling out below cost about 2-yrs ago.
Somehow... the rest of what you see just seemed to amazingly appear around it.
BRD's a bitch in sexy underwear
Thanks, Flame!

Nice, love both - I have to restrain myself or I'll duracoated everything I own!
Awesome!!

I used to duracoat a whole lot. And those two look very nice. Admit it though Mav, the pink one is for you!!

Now that you mention it... it would go nicely with my new pink shooting jacket and heels
NOT!

Hey, I only wear that for nighttime tracer shoots.

Unlike some of the "meat smokers" on here, I love me some pink.
Just not on my guns.
When she is ready for a real EOTech, you can buy the hood by itself for a reasonable amount. Of course they have the .22 version but not the right mounting option, which is BS.
Nice job though. Awesome.
Self: Not showing to daughter. Not showing to daughter. Not showing to daughter!
And yes, your shotgun needs more Magpul. I'm thinking that ultra-tough UBR. Live a little.
ETA –– I have a question about the Spike's ST-22 upper but I have to go home and look at mine first. Maybe just a brain fart.
...and how does it run assuming you tried it before the upgrades? I had lots of issues and though I like Spikes, poor service.

Like a champ since day one. I've never had any issues at all with it over roughly 7K rounds. Before it was pink (daughter's) it was std black over the wife's Stag lower (hence the fake can so we could tell it apart from the rest of the herd). The only thing it hasn't had much run time with is the Plum Crazy lower... so far it's running good. Daughter laid claim to it at last summer's Roasted Nutz. Mom now has all her BB guns.

I would like to see it with the Magpul goodies too. Never seen one all decked out yet.
Do it Mav, you know you want to...

You guys are becoming like little nagging voices in my head... no, like the little devil vs. the angel in "Animal House".
"Do it... do it to it... you know you want to..."
Those guns are sweet mav i wish i had something to duracoat
I have the same problem deciding what to put on the Saiga 12. Thinking UBR.
Then there is that whole decision of what color for the coat job. Or just keep it as is, vodka special.
Damn decisions.
Flame is THE MAN when it comes to all things Duracoat. HIs work is incredible.
For those who haven't had any work done by him yet I HIGHLY recommend it and I am a finicky SOB.
Peace,
Dean
Anyone have contact info for this Flamethrower guy? I am in Northern IL and I have some parts I'd like done right.
Thanks

Nope, he is a ghost, a figment of these posters imagination. No one can consistently do that fine of a job on every project he does.
Wow, that could get expensive fast.
What EOtech clone is on the .22?

Don't know the exact manufacturer, found it here on the EE without box/paperwork.
Holds zero fine on the .22L but haven't tried it on a 5.56 upper. They say the clones
that use the (2) AAA batteries are the better of the copies... this is one of them.
It works fine for her shooting. The idea was to get her used to the controls and
sight picture so she can move up to the real EOTechs on the 5.56 rifles without
any training curve. I like the cloned A.R.M.S. levers it comes with as it allows
her to take the optic off and practice with irons.
That's purty. Waiting for my daughters upper to come back from Tac Sol. Hopefully I won't have to dig empty brass out of the upper any more.
