Colorado Springs has a car-fatality rank of No. 11 while their violent-crime rank is No. 18. Aurora has a car-fatality rank of No. 18 and a violent-crime rank of No. 12.
Compared to some of the hell holes that make up L.A. that don't have 250,000 people (Van Nuys, Long Beach), it's very safe out here. I remember when folks would warn me about downtown Colo. Sprgs. when I first moved here. It reminded me of a safer Burbank.
I PCS'd here from Las Vegas. COS is quite calm IMO.
my wife said someone had this posted as their Facebook status today. I called bullshit immediately.
I will admit next to detroit or LA this doesnt seem to bad. But having grown up here in CO, Living in loveland and then living in Aurora, were I dont go toe the aurora mall after dark. its a big difference
I had the same reaction.
There are much safer places in the Denver Metro than Aurora. Hell, pick
any other suburb and it will be safer than Aurora.
ETA: Looks like one of America's safest cities
made Drudge!
