 Colorado & child support question

I've been paying my child support since day 1 (post divorce)

my 17 1/2 yo daughter is getting really pissed off at her mom's attitude and has decided to come live with me full time.
(she has talked about this a bit, but yesterday she decided she had enough, after dealing with some snobby/bitchy attitude from her mother towards her and my sister and neice)
I never spoke ill of the ex, my daughter has seen for herself how her mother is, and what I had to put up with for 9 years.
being treated like a 3rd class citizen in your own house, not to mention the contempt she has for my daughter.

what would be the best way to deal with the child support issue? I know state law states 19 is the cut off, and I'd have to pay unless it's changed by the court.
does anyone know of any case law?
if my daughter is gonna live here, I'll be damned if I'm gonna send all that money off to the ex for nothing.

I know I really need to contact a lawyer, just seeing if someone might have some experience in this matter first, so I can be better informed.

Talk to your attorney about what your custody order states. And if your daughter moves in with you, immediately have your attorney get your support order modified to match. Don't use shortcuts.

What spqrzilla said.

My decree listed under what conditions c.s. was due and when it was no longer to be paid. Like if she moved out and set up her own household or moved in with me I could quit paying her mother. But if she went off to college I still had to pay until she turned 19. That sounds crazy but there you go. (we all know fairness to the fathervis utmost in thief minds Does you decree mention any of this?

At any rate you'll need to modify you divorce decree. If everyone agrees to the change you can do it yourself. If the ex- wants to fight it (she'll start owing you child support now) then lawyer up.
