Is Colorado one of the states that requires you to register firearms (any) with the state upon arrival as a full time resident?

I may be planning a move in a few years, and Colorado is on the list

Cash and carry state once you have I.D. Moved here from CA about 4 months ago and this state is great regarding owning and carrying guns.

CO has excellent gun laws as long you dont live in Denver proper.

Shall issue concealed weapons permits.
FTF private party sales OK
No waiting period.
NFA weapons are good to go.
Loaded Handgun in vehicle OK without permit
No issues with magazine capacity or scary cosmetic additions to your semi auto sporting rifles.

But no one in their right mind lives in the actual Denver city limits. Everyone lives in the burbs where Denver's silly rules don't apply.

Are we going to have a silly Denver bashing thread now?
I'm right minded and I live here.

I just moved to Broomfield from Alexandria, VA so I feel your pain. Laws here seem to be pretty similar to that of the Old Dominion and I don't think there are any show stoppers. I managed to get my CCW in 37 days in Broomfield (got the call yesterday but I'm in VA for the next few weeks) and that's including the Thanksgiving holiday.

One thing that sucks is the car registration tax...about the same as in VA...maybe a little more.

Oddly enough I needed corrective lenses in VA but I'm G2G in Colorado....go figure.

People bitch about Denver traffic but I think it's cake....of course it's all relative to where you are from. PM me if you have any questions...

I lived in denver propper for a while. I used to live in Saudi Aurora but I moved further south yet again into where aurora and centennial are mixed. Denver didnt have a beef with me even though the DPD was in my apartment complex a few times a week. I had my apartment broken into once and they had to clear it for the wifes sake and the cops even complimented me on a nice AR. Didnt say anything about the loaded mags either other than to suggest locking the gun case in the future

In a few years there just might be a gun registration.

Bashing Denver is never silly! It's well deserved... Especially when the mayor sends his attorney out to see if he's on surveillance film at a whorehouse during an election, and he still gets elected!!!

On the subject of the mag restriction... I believe RMGO posted that no one has ever been prosecuted under this law. But it's still a law and is still on the books. You can bet one high-profile shooting with "high cap" mags and they will start enforcing it. There is an exemption for transport––so if you don't live in Denver, and don't take your gun out, you're fine. Almost like the city council is saying "don't live here" and I got that message loud and clear six yeas ago.

I grew up in Aurora and Denver and still have family in Denver. Section 8 has invaded the formerly middle-class neighborhoods with the nice ranch style houses built 1950 - 1970. The only way to get away from the bad areas is to go into a neighborhood where you are likely priced out of the market and will break your back trying to make the mortgage (if you can even get one). Where my family lives there are break-ins all the time and their vehicles have been vandalized. The neighbor across the street had his car stolen a couple of years ago. This is an area where the average home is still going for 250k for a 2,000 sq ft ranch (incl basement).

In the suburbs you can find (realatively) cheaper, nicer homes in better neighborhoods with better schools.
