Tell me about Fort Collins
I am applying for a position at a collision shop in Fort Collins this week and wanting to learn all I can about the area in case I end up moving there soon. I am coming from the "Mountains" of East TN. I have visited Boulder once. Past that no experience in CO. I do like craft beer though.
Ft Collins is a great city. I grew up in loveland which is just south of there. Its got a nice college town atmosphere without the arrogance you would see in boulder with CU. It has a lot of activities if you like being outside and a lot of activities even if you dont. The mall up there isnt the greatest but what it lacks, you will find down in loveland. All in all I love going to FOCO as we call it. Youll love it too
You'll love it.
Big wheeling community here too. (saw your Avatar)
Look me up if you come to town and want a tour or something.
The job market for my industry seems decent. I have sent out a few resumes to people and am calling on one this afternoon for a phone interview. However, that is in Basalt which is not really where I am after.
If i was to leave the mountains I'd only move back Fort Collins.
The town is awesome. Its just big enough to have everything you want and still not too huge to have crazy stupid traffic.

I'd take a good job in Basalt any day over Ft Collins!
Great place to live if you can find a job. Housing isn't cheap. Lot's of college kids.

Why?
The Front Range is like mini-SoCal.
I am looking for a more "bike friendly" town. I currently live in a small touristy town and I want more of that urban vibe I guess. I am just looking from pictures as I have not ever heard much about the Aspen/Basalt area. Is it good? I am outdoorsy but still want to do things like fine dining and craft brewing.

Fort Collins is full, sorry.
Most would rather live on the western slope than the front range if possible. Less people and a lot more outdoor activity possibilities.
PM sent with another body shop info. he is hiring next year
The Basalt area is cool, if you can (but you won't) find decent affordable housing. And dealing with the rich bastards is a whole nother thing.
You will end up living in Rifle, where you may find a job and live happily ever after. Arfcommer living in a town called RIFLE???
