Mogadishu Mile at New Holland
i see this is going in June 2012. when will registration open?
some of us need to get on top of hotel reservations.
i'm getting too old and creaky to be sleeping in your "ample woods"

Hi,
Thanks for the interest! We will have registration going at least a month before the event date.
It is highly likely there will be two classes again, enlisted (with rucksack, min. weight) and civilian (just shoot the course). The course of fire will be tough again, with some new twists of course.
I hear we have procured a camo-net environment to provide some leisure shade for the RSO's and on deck shooters.
This is far and away my personal favorite match of the year. I have my chocolate-chip desert camo pants all ready.

Where can I find some information on this?
Thank you
It will be posted here when it opens up.
To those who have not shot with us before, if you want to participate in this match you need to have come and shot with us before, or have other 3-gun type competitive experience to point to. This is one of very few matches we do that are not particularly suited to first time competitors. Due to the popularity of the match, there is going to be a time limit (reasonable) enforced to keep the day moving along. If you need to soak yourself into a trance to fire every round, you will time out very quickly.
There is a notable amount of physical fitness required, the course of fire is extremely difficult, and it is one shooter at a time, so all the focus is on YOU.
We have plenty of matches in between now and then that you can come out and get yourself tuned up. If you have not shot at moving targets, have no experience shooting on the move, or can confidently drop and engage targets out to 300 Yards quickly and accurately, I would recommend you get out there and shoot with us. The CoF is do-able with irons, or any modern sporting rifle for that matter, but you had better know your platform, and know what you are doing. I am not trying to scare anyone away, but I want you to know that the bar on this one is raised higher than on the rest.
We need volunteers to pull this match off. If you are not up to shooting it, we would welcome you on as a team member. You will learn a LOT just by being there and seeing how experienced shooters negotiate and overcome the challenges.
On the other hand, if you are pretty handy with a rifle, have a little competitive experience under your belt, and are ready and willing to take on the next challenge, this is the match for you.
This match is ALWAYS sold out, so when it gets announced, you snooze at your own peril. It will be posted here in the PA HTF, Snipershide, Pafoa, and MDshooters.

I haven't been out to the shoots lately due to several factors: 1) new baby 2) just purchased a house.
I was thinking... well my baby is 12 lbs and I can buy a baby backpack.
Where to get the baby ANSI specs and ears? Might as well start him early.

So this year classes will be:
Enlisted
Civilian
Baby Sitter
???
Don't forget the beh-beh......
The beh-beh will be shooting in its own class. We have let "under 18" participate before with parental supervision. It's always been interpreted as under 18 years, not under 18 months though....

Fargo, are you going to be putting on the Bin Laden shoot at New Holland this year, or was it just a one off?
We already did that as a night shoot (suppressors only).
Since there wasn't a lot of shooting in the actual event, the closer we kept it to how it actually went the less entertaining it was.
I suppose we could do an embellished version of it in some way.
Right now i am designing a 3-Gun CoF with an "Executive Protection / PSD" theme. Pistol, shotgun, rifle. It will have a protectee (dummy) that has to be loaded into a vehicle, all kinds of reactive and paper targs. Probably May on that one.

This sounds very exciting!
All participants will be required to shoot wearing a sport jacket.
I shit you not.

I need some new ties, mine are soooo 2000.
And anyone with more than 7 pockets in pants and jacket combined should be DQ'ed.
I was looking at the schedule Fargo and the matches seem a bit stretched out due to the busy summer schedule.
The only solution is for me to go suppressed. Baby's sleep at sundown.

I am working on some really fun stuff for a lowlight match this summer.
This will be one that is not soon forgotten.
No details yet, but be prepared for challenges..... all kinds....
And start hitting the gym and the track.
