Back by popular demand is our WWII Practical Rifle Shoot! It will be on Saturday February 2/25. The registration link will be posted here on
February 10th. Look for it here in my first post. All shooting evolutions will be based around 8 rounds for obvious reasons. In order to shoot with us you will need a shoulder fired semi-automatic WWII vintage rifle such as:
M1 Garand
M1 Carbine
Russian SVT's
German G-41, 43
semi-auto versions of subguns are approved for this event. Sorry no full auto's
Feel free to email me at lastdefender@aol.com for questions on approved firearms.
This event will sell out fast so please watch for the sign-up link which will be posted no later than 0900hrs 2/10. For those using the M1 Garand, make sure you have enough enbloc clips for this event. You do not want to be loading them in February weather. So get your orders into the CMP and we look forward to seeing you at Bastone...I mean LRGC on February 25th...
And yes we shoot in the snow....

UPDATE: I was just given approval to have access to our club house on the 25th. This means we will be hosting an official G.I. mess after the shoot.
We will do our best to replicate an actual A or B ration mess that you might have experianced during the winter of 1945 in the ETO.
From the limited amount of research I've done regarding the food served in those days, if you have a cardiac condition you may want to bring your own!

The sign Up Link has been posted at the top of the thread....
1/2 the slots are gone already....

I've found these events always safe, fun and educational shoots.
I just can't figure out how they get the snow squalls to come in on-command.
You can probably thank me for the snow.
Here are the
scores. I would like to thank the staff that helped out today and thanks to all of those that came out. I hope you all enjoyed the match, and the snow.

That's because I was raised in Texas.
If you get me upset, I quit being nice; if you make me mad, the NCO side of me comes out.
