Looking for an engraver in the Pittsburgh area. Does anyone know of anyone or have info on someone they have gone to? This is for SBR type engraving on lowers and other items.

I've looked myself, and I've came up short as well. I called all over and I can't find anyone.

Gibsonia Trophy on route 8 north of Hampton. I believe he is retired LE and did mine while I waited for $5 if I recall correctly. I can probably post a photo if desired.

I'll do it. I'm an 07 FFL in the South HIlls and use a rotary pantograph engraver. $50 for NFA engraving including return shipping, $40 if you drop off and pick up. What do you need engraved?

I'm frequently in the South Hills, I'm down in Washington. I could do a drop off for one. I'm interested if you can do one or two for me, both AR Lowers.

Just to let everyone know. I stopped by and had my lowers engraved. His machine does excellent work. He takes the time to engrave the lower the way you want it and where you want it. If anyone is thinking about using him for an engraver DO NOT hesitate. He is also a gun smith and really knows the tools of his trade.

Guys, just an update. I met with Josh (SchlaffTablett) and he did the engraving on my GSG 5. He turned it around in 24 hours and was great to work with. He was easy to get in touch with, responsive to questions, and called me let me know it was all finished. After filling in the engraving on my GSG, he also offered to darken some of the other markings from ATI/GSG at no extra charge.

As you can see, the engraving turned out wonderful, the pictures don't do it justice. If you're looking for to have some engraving done, I would highly recommend talking with him. He really knows his stuff. Deal with confidence.

Looks great Brew. I will be dealing with him one of these days. I thought a CNC machine was needed for lettering like that, and thats exactly what i am looking for. thanks for the pics. BTW, my AO is very close to you. where do you shoot? DMSC?

CNC isn't needed at all, just a good machine, quality tooling, and patience.

Thanks for posting Brew, I'm glad you liked it and I appreciate your business. Let me know when you're ready with those tubing sections!

I recently moved to the area and haven't settled on a home range yet. I still maintain a membership at my old club located near Grove City, PA. I'm looking at DMLSC since it's the closest to me, but considering Pitcairn Monroeville, McDonald, Clairton. Not trying to derail this one, so 'll have to get a separate thread started to get some recommendations.

Another positive review of Josh's work. Had him engrave my lower last week, nice guy, did a great job. He even matched the font size to the size of the selector switch font. I'll try to get a pic posted soon.

Thanks again.
