So with the Phoenix Comicon coming up in a little over 3 weeks, I'm trying to figure out bars and eateries in the downtown Phoenix area that are within walking distance of the convention center that don't suck. I found last year that what I did find did indeed suck, so either nothing exists or I just don't know where to look

Lots has changed down there since I was younger and spent more time in downtown.
So, for those of you that might spend a lot of time in the area of 3rd Street and Washington, are there any good bars and restaurants worthy of my time/money? I am a die hard beer nerd, so anything close by (within walking distance) that would allow me to avoid the typical macro-lagers and pilsners would be awesome

Any craft beer bars in downtown?
Thanks guys.
Ok I am finding this somewhat useful....
I don't spend a lot of time downtown, but my brother in-law loves
this place. I've eaten and drank there a few times and would go again.
Pretty sure Alice cooperstown was down near there.

Yup, thanks it's on the list once I found it on the map

I also spied a little English pub over in Heritage Square by Pizza Bianco called
Rose & Crown.

Drink- check out the duce. it is just a short walk south of the suns arena. It has a boxing ring, workout out equipment and they sell high life and pbr so you know its legit.
also try the crescent ballroom, i think its on 4th ave. Both of these are pretty laid back but will attract the few hipsters in phoenix.
Ah I'd noticed the arrogant butcher on the map and was wondering if it was worth the walk. Crescent Ballroom is on the list once I noticed the menu is also done by Bianco. Duce does look like a cool place despite the crappy hipster beer

The girlfriend digs the old school cocktails, so we may have to check that out. Although I do hate me some hipsters... Thanks for the suggestions! Nice avatar btw

I loves me some Franziskaner.

The Duce is a neat place, but a major gay hangout. It was pretty awkward the last time I was there.
