Question about hog hunting in AZ
I have a friend with family in AZ who invited me and my father out to hunt hogs with him. I called the AZ Department of Game and Fish to ask what kind of permits are required. They said they don't regulate hogs at all. BLM does. I called BLM and they weren't really sure if they regulated hogs at all. Finally I got to the guy who runs wildlife management (Elroy) who said no permit was required and any weapon combination could be used, day or night.
So did I get the run around or is this as easy as it sounds?
I'd like to bring my suppressed 9mm AR and do some hunting at night with my PVS14. Assuming I let the local game warden know that we're not spotlighting deer does this sound feasible?
When and where did we get hogs in Arizona ?

This has been discussed here a lot as all of us want to down some pigs. But AZ is not hospitable to hogs as we don't have much free standing nor flowing water. There are very small pockets of them around but if you saw them one day you may never see them again...
There are no limits to method of take for feral hogs in AZ, as they are a non-game species and not managed by any agency.
Full-auto M2 with thermal scope? Let 'er rip.
The person that invited us said it was for hogs. Other than scacity, does what I posted above seem reasonable?
ETA: Ok. Sounds good. I'll bring my suppressed MG and suppressed 9mm AR for some hunting if this works out.
Thanks for the info guys.
Pics or it didnt happen!

If you get into a big pile of feral hogs in AZ (that are not on a high-fence hunting ranch) I will be shocked and amazed. I look forward to hearing back from you on this.
The above mentioned awesome methods of dispatch will work handily for hogs, but be aware that using that 9mm will require several hits to convince the hog that it should die. I'd prefer something larger, or faster, or both. Rifles are nice for hogs.
And be aware that, as of right now, it would be illegal to shoot just about every other animal in AZ with anything FA or suppressed. Night hunting is only legal for coyotes, raccoons, and mountain lions, and each one of those has a specific season, bag limit, and required license or tag in order to do so.
Still want to hear where I can blast hogs.

Well if I'm using the suppressed MG I've got 32 reasons they should lay down and die. The 9mm AR is really an experiment to see how I like fully suppressed hunting at night. If it works out well I'll move ahead suppressing my BMG rifle, shooting 700 grain hollow points at just barely subsonic speeds. Besides the first two rifles I already mentioned I'd also be bringing a .45-70 and a suppressed .308 long range gun. I'm most eager to use the first two mentioned though.
Yes, but where?
