To all those that fish!
Bass are starting to hit hard! Pre-Spawn.
5lb Largemouth out of Saguaro taken Sunday morning. I got her in about 15-20ft of water.
Swim baits are working well still, but anything that represents a crawfish in saguaro will work best right now. Mornings are best before boat traffic gets heavy.
Nice bass. Tasty?
When I saw your pic I instantly thought of this:

haha that is hilarious. Umm I actually ended up letting her go. During spawn I let the pregnant bass usually go cause I like see lots of baby bass later in the yr =)
Not too bad. I caught a 7lb outta there on Saturday. Ended up catching 3 total, but let all of them go.
Bas don't taste good anyway ,but it's fun catching them .
AWESOME!!!!

You get any pics of that 7lb bass? I'll be out there again Sat trying to hook up some more. I was fishing about 15-25ft of water when I was hitting the bigger fish. Found some bedded fish but couldnt get any to bite really. Lost one off a bed.
I might head out to Pleasant on Thursday and see if the white bass are starting to bite as well.

Yeah I'll grab a pic. That was the last fish of the day that I caught, but the other were in the 2 lb range. My old man caught 2 as well, but there were 2ish too.
In true arfcom mentality, here's a pic. Fun day out there, might need to head out there again soon.

beautiful fish!
One of the Saguaro Lake marina members caught an 8# bass off the docks yesterday morning.
Pulled this 101/2 lb Toad out of the river end of Lake Pleasant about 11:30pm drifting worms...up an over a submerged ledge, he was not happy, had to wear him down a little for a photo shoot...I love that lake...

That looks to be about four sammitches a side to me.
In my younger days I used to eat em, after fishing in a lot tournaments, now I let the Bass go, especially the big Toads, gotta keep the Gene Pool reproducin to keep those Bucket Mouths growin big...Im tellin ya, find the 1702' marker in the river and go north, ( left) and look for 2 buoys floating off Satans point,....gotta be there after 11:00 or midnite and the BIG Daddys start movin up the point....caught some 8's 7's, we didnt have a scale but he measured 27 inches long with a grith of 21,....I will probbably have a replica made for a trophy as this was the biggest ever...!
Its still early for cranks but worth a try, go minnows for sure on Whiteys,...go where the crappie are and you will find the whiteys, coles bay in the back, or better yet stripers pile up at about 90-100ftfeet under the cliffs by tthe 1702,...gotta get real close to the wall and drop straight down, they ball up around the bottom edges as the current moves around that cliff face...Ive seen the Humminbird go black with so many striper...

I definitely need to get back into fishing. I bet with a good kayak you could really murder them.

Ill have to do it after I get this new job situated. Don't wanna set dates I might be working

Tonto Crick.

nice trout for Tonto creek. You up by the hatchery or further down?
That is about 300 yards up the road from the bridge by the picnic area parking lot/campground.
For some reason my favorite established car camping is the upper tonto creek campground. Only 9 spots, running water, clean vault toilets, super easy access to the creek with great stocked trout fishing, or you can hike up horton creek out of the campground till you hit water and go after natural browns. I really like this spot because you can get your non hardcore camping friends to go since you are not out in the sticks. Good place to camp, fish, drink, and have a good carefree time.
My buddy fly fishing the creek
About 75yds up creek from there..
