We're Back!!!!!!!!

For those of you who do not know we have a multigun match once a month at our club. Tentative dates for this year are April 21 st , May 19 th , June 16 th , July 21 st , August 11 th , and September 15 th will be our last regular match of the year. An invitation only night match will take place on October 13th. The matches are held at the U.C.O.A. club in Findlay, OH located at 6943 Twp Rd 243. The matches start at 12:00 p.m. and setup starts at 8 a.m. Chamber flags are required for all long guns. If you do not have them they will be available for $1.00 each. The matches consist of one rifle stage, one shotgun stage, and one pistol stage there will also be 2 multigun stages consisting of rifle/shotgun, shotgun/pistol or pistol/rifle. NO STEEL CORE AMMO. Rim-fire caliber pistols and rifles are allowed at the matches. This is a great chance for shooters to become more familiar with all of their weapons and put them into realistic scenarios. The maximum round count for the matches is 150 rounds rifle, 75 rounds pistol 25 rounds birdshot and 25 rounds of slugs. These are maximum numbers for estimated round counts for the matches. New shooters should arrive by 11:30 for a safety overview. We will be using the 100 yd range for the rifle stage on the April, June, and August matches. Anyone that has questions can feel free to email paul.ruhland@ucoa-findlay.com

New for 2012 as we are in our 4th year will be implementing some new changes. The first will be divisions for shooters as most 3-gun matches have them.
A note on divisions your division will be determined by the equipment you are using. When you sign up at the match you will be asked to note what firearms (calibers) and optics you are using and note what class that puts you in. This will not effect who you shoot with. It is simply used in the scoring to group shooters together by classification so scores can be compared more easily to the division you are actually competing against. This is all done in the spirit of more even friendly competition. I would also like to have everyone bring a rifle, pistol and shotgun to use for the matches. In the past we have allowed people who don’t have shotguns to use their pistols, however this will not be the case this year as some shotgun stages will not be able to be shot with your pistol. We are doing this in an attempt to design shotgun stages that are fun , challenging and specific to the shotgun platform. Our plan is also to offer a number of true 3 gun stages which will obviously require the use of shotgun. This is not done in an effort to exclude shooters who are without a shotgun but rather to improve the quality of the stages and the level of competition at the match. DO NOT let the lack of a shotgun stop you from coming out to shoot. 3 gun is a great sport and if you are interested in giving it a try I guarantee you will not be disappointed. If you do not have a shotgun I am sure I have a spare or another shooter will let you borrow theirs so bring a box of 12Ga. Birdshot and some slugs with you or just know that you may not be able to shoot some stages.

There has been a core group of individuals who have been helping for the last 3 years and we need to add to that group for our setup and teardown crew so for 2012 the shooters will dictate our matches. I need at least 5 people to volunteer for the setup and tear down for every match by the Sunday before each match. If I cannot find at least 5 people the match for that month the match will be cancelled. I drive over an hour each way to make the matches happen and receive no pay for running these matches. As a bonus this year we will be selling tickets for at least one gun and possible more depending on interest. The tickets will be $5.00 each and as an added bonus for those 5 people each match who help me setup and tear down you will receive a ticket for free for every match you help.

For the matches to continue into the future we will need some people to help with by volunteering to be Range Officers for the matches. If you are interested in being a range officer we would provide you with a training class. Range Officers are the people that run everyone through the stages. We will need at least 3 Range Officers every match. The more Range Officers we have will allow us to rotate them throughout the year. If you are interested in becoming a range officer or in helping to setup the match please email me back a.s.a.p.

The matches are registration only and registration for the matches begins on the Monday after each match. If you want to shoot our match you will need to email me and register. We are limiting the matches to 50 shooters so we can move along quickly and allow the match to run smoother for everyone.

The cost of the matches to $25.00 per shooter. If you setup and tear down you shoot for free. This will be limited to the first 5 shooters that email me on the Monday after the match. All shooters will pay $25.00 at the beginning of the match. If you helped setup and tear down after everything is put away I will refund your $25.00. If you stick around and help tear down you will be refunded $10.00. If you wish to leave that is fine and the $25.00 will be your match cost.

Also new this year a special thanks goes out to Matt Smith for creating our new website and forum. Please check it out at UCOA Multigun Official Website all of the information about our matches is available on this site. The site also has pictures and videos of previous matches along with rules and results from all of the matches will be posted on this site. The forum which is very easy to register for will be a great place for shooters of our matches to get together and discuss any issues about the matches.

Feel free to email me back with any questions you may have.

Thanks,

Paul Ruhland

I'm always looking for new places to shoot 3-Gun but you're 3 hr 40 min away from me in SE Ohio so I would have to stay overnight. I'll try to make one of your matchs this year if my schedule will allow it.
