If you've been put off by some of the high fees charged for CCW training, you're going to like this one. Working out of the Cambridge,OH area, Roy Landstrum charges a mere $45.00 for the complete CCW class. He usally schedules two 4 hr classroom sessions followed by 4 hrs on the range over a 3 day period. He will run a one day, 12 hr session for those who wish. In addition to the above classes, Roy is also a NRA certified instructor , a Ohio Hunter Saftey instructor, and has helped out at Camp Perry for yrs. Check him out! Ohlar

Does his class have an attorney come in for a Q&A hour?

Not sure where you may be. Here in Wadsworth Ohio we have a class that does the NRA/CCW course, for $39.00.
His add says: Non-profit group gives classes as a community service!

Call roger @ 330-335 9205

I took the course about eight people were there. No Lawyer at that time. He may have a Police Officer to answer question! He does the book part at the PUBLIC LIBRARY on Saturday. Then the next day, Sunday, He breaks the class up in smaller groups to do the shooting.....

If your NEW to Shooting this may not be the best class. I liked it.

PS He has had people from all over the State. Very large classes.... Maybe cheeper to stay over night....maybe not!

You must have missed Michael_Courtney and his free class, but I believe he's fled the Great State for NC.

Roy had been charging $25.00 for the class until the sportsmans club's range he uses decided they wanted a piece of the action, thus the $45.00. As far as I know Roy conducts the classes alone without a lawyer. Roy is a great guy and a well respected firearms instructor. He does not advertise, word of mouth alone fills his classes. I guess I'm just trying to spread the word.

The Chief of Police (Don Perkins) in Claytownship does them for $60. He donates the money to his department for equipment upgrades.

-Where is this place at, do you have a phone #, is it a good class ( as far as getting legal questions answered, do's and dont's). I'd rather have the cheaper class but I'm willing to pay for the higher class if it means that they are skimping on some of the things that the more expensive classes are teaching.

This guy LINK is in the Washington C.H. area. His name is Larry Smith and he is a super nice guy. Charges $50 and splits the course up over two days. Good thing is he feeds ya lunch both days.

kevinR, it is north of Dayton, around Englewood/Clayton/Brookville area. Its in the book. Just ask for the Chief and ask when he is going to do his next CCW class. Its taught by LEO so you will get a working understanding of the law. The class is usually done on a Thur/Fri evening with range time on Sat.
