I read the sticky and it makes my head explode. Is there a quick and easy list of banned firearms? Can I safely assume all traditional AR/AK/M1a type weapons are banned? What about pistols with hi cap mags and shotguns like 590a1 with a lug? what about newer type weapons without evil features like a PS90?

Mossberg 590A1 is fine. Shotguns dont get tricky until they have a detachable mag and/or a pistol grip...

As long as it is not make/model listed as a banned assault weapon, any Title 1 firearm can be made CA legal.

Are you allowed to still use pre ban Hi-caps that you owned before 2000 in a pistol? The chart was never clear on that.

Yes, if it has the "as-issued" 10 round military magazine, its GTG. But aftermarket captive mags that hold 20 or 30 rounds magically transform an SKS into an "Assault Weapon" per California law.

Yes, grandfathered standard capacity pistol mags are GTG.
