I though there was a .50 cal. ban last year. Or was that just for the .50 BMG? I hope it's legal cuz I just bought one.

I hope its legal, I've had one for a while now ;)

They are loads of fun to shoot. Just get ammo a good bit in advance, because sometimes it takes a while to get it. I just finally got a reloading setup finished for mine

Thanks for the info gentlemen. It should be here in time for the Sac. Quarry shoot in a couple weeks. I can't wait to see what it can do to pumkins.
Zapp. I'm e-mailing you about your reloading setup.

That's a good question. My "Assault Weapon Registration" paper states that both of my AR rifles are "556" caliber. So, if I placed a .50 Beowulf upper on one of my lowers and had my rifle examined while out shooting (say, by the BLM), would I take any crap from them? I have a feeling that it depends on the person who would potentially "examine" your rifle. Whether or not they're in a good mood, a bad mood, they are anti-gun, pro-gun, etc., would probably determine the outcome.

Good point. The paperwork also notes length of barrel. The Bushy lower this will sit on also says 20" barrel but my will now be 16" AND not the listed caliber. I expect an anti-gun LE could make my life painful if they wanted to. When shooting I guess I'd better bring a giant can of kissa$$ and hope they're having a good day.
