Broward County ARFCOM 1st Semi-Annual Crappy FFL Awareness Meet

Before reading any further check out this thread for the back story. Apparently finding a good FFL in this area can be hit or miss. Someone came up with the idea to have a little Broward County ARFCOM get together (or massive restaurant take over, depending on how many people show up) to not only put some faces to the familiar usernames here but to counter the crappy service of all the shady FFLs here in sofla with some good food and cold beers!
Now that that's out of the way, I guess since it was my thread originally I'll step up and try to get this whole thing organized. I have a pretty unpredictable schedule for work so I may not even be able to make it to the meet whenever we decide to have it but I don't mind setting everything up.

I think we're pretty much set on the Flanigan's in Davie on University Dr just south of 595. This sound good to everyone?
We also need to settle on a date and time. Someone suggested we have the meet on a Friday night so that afterwards we could check out the weekly car show there right behind the restaurant at Tower Shops. What do you guys think of that? We can start off by figuring on Friday, May 25th as a starting point, that way we have plenty of time to get all the details ironed out.

Sounds like a good idea. but to be honest I know of at least 3 (maybe more)reliable and inexpensive FFL's .. As for location I am all the way in North Broward so I probably will not make it unless by some chance I am near davie. Thanks for stepping up with the plans though..

Hint: the major forum you might associate with the brand used for the photo. Otherwise, it's a great place and not a reflection on the forum. Just one fool's mistake really.
I was outside with another member who was giving me something out of his car at the time said deed happened. Had I been there it would've been really awkward but I'm sure I would've left.

Well, it seems like there's quit a few people in northern Broward. What does everyone think, keep it in Davie or find somewhere a little further north? I'm not to familiar with much of anything north of Coral Springs or so, so so suggestions are welcome!

It occurs to me that a group of men whose primary interest is firearms and whose sense of humor leans towards the politically incorrect might attract unwanted attention in a popular restaurant. I know it's a chain, but the food at Duffy's is decent and the prices are reasonable. Some of them have a private room that can be reserved, so we can talk about ammo forts and killing it with fire, as well as our shared admiration for the current administration and its policies. We can check the ones on Fort Lauderdale and Plantation.
If you think about some of the people you're likely to encounter in south Florida, you can see why they might call in the SWAT team if they listened to us going at it.

No matter where this is at it's going to be inconvenient for some. If we move it North the guys down South who were going to come might not. Same if we moved it South.
Let's just pick something and stick to it. Whether it's Duffy's (there's one on University Dr. in Plantation), Flanigan's, or some other place.
I'd suggest that we can make this a regular event - maybe bimonthly - and move it throughout the area each time so we can make it more convenient for people living in different areas. That way if Davie/Plantation is inconvenient for you this time next time we may be closer to wherever you may be.

Re-occurring and near 95 are both good ideas in my book. As well as hitting up places that can give some privacy.

Well, looks like I'm not gonna make it because of work but I agree that we should make this a bi-monthly thing with differing locations. I'm still willing to do my best at getting this first one set up, unless someone wants to take over for me. Just to give you guys an idea of what I meant when I said my work schedule is a little hectic.... I just got to Morocco, I'll be in NY tomorrow, Germany Monday, Miami Tuesday, Vegas Wednrsday, back to NY Thursday, Back to Vegas for the weekend, and NY again on the following Monday.
