This receiver was manufactured on May 25, 1994 according to DPMS and was assembled into a 603 spec'd rifle prior to November 1994. I bought it as a complete rifle from a friend just for the early 603 Colt parts during the Clinton years before 603 kits became the rage. Other than test firing the rifle when I bought it off my buddy, stripped lower has been sitting in the back of the safe since then.
The receiver appears to be cast-aluminum, with a black teflon coating. Not sure who made it for DPMS, but it is very similar in appearance to the Essential Arms lowers sold here on EE––down to the raised letter markings on the receiver. The only difference between this DPMS receiver and the Essential Arms lowers is the black teflon finish versus a grey finish. Markings on left side near fire controls: D.P.M.S. INC., Becker, MN USA. Markings on magazine well: Cal .223-5.56; Mod: A-15; S: 47XX
