I regret to say this but two firearms that I was letting a friend borrow for hunting still haven't been returned. I'm suppossed to meet up on wednesday but this will be about the 10th time its been delayed. the rifle is asavage model 10 chambered in .308Win. It has a harris bipod, Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x50mm scope. Had a black hard case with it and a black browning sling with red elk mark. Had some misc. ammo mostly australian 147gr in sealed 5 round packs. There is some wear on the finish of the bolt. Here are some pictures.... Aftermarket adjustable trigger as well.

(rifle on the top)

The second is a Beretta M92 pistol in stainless finish with hogue over-molded grips, The paint on the safty is faded off, and the night sights are burnt out and dim t best. the front sight is blacked out to my recolection, with 3 magazines. 1 silver finished 15-17 round magazine, 1 Beretta M9 mag, and 1 10 round magazine. 1 Serpa holster in carbon fiber finish. There is also some pitting that looks like rust on the bottom of the trigger guard and scattered about the rest of the pistol. Pictures...

The only reason I post this is that we have the 1500 coming up and my attempts at recovery have been unsucessful. I've already stated that if I dont have them back by friday, Im contacting the state police to file the report. Any information please email me immediately smartserpent@yahoo.com they have been missing out of the Indianapolis area.

I don't want to get your hopes up, but I think I've seen a very similar rifle at West side pawn. I'm looking for a heavy barreled .308 and seem to remeber seeing one theer with a black sling with the red Browning logo on it. They are at 10th & Tibbs on the West side. If it's not there, they should be able to check their records and see if your serial number matches up to their books.

Best of luck,

Thanks for the tip I called the EZ pawn that was over there but no luck. I couldn't find a westside pawn though. I'll be driving by that area tomorrow to take a look. Do you remember about when you may have seen it over there?

Durango, it's been a month or so back since I was in there. They are just West of Tibbs on 10th st. North side of the road. Right next tot eh Hi-Neighbor tavern. Best of luck to you, sir! Talk to the owner, he seems to be a good guy. I bet if the rifle's not there, you can give him your serial # and he might check his book for you. Only thing is, if you haven't reported them stolen, I doubt you would have much legal claim to getting them rom a new owner.

Hope it all works out,
Doug K

That's not a huge issue, if they're in someone elses possession, I'llfile the report and tell the officers exactly where to find it. The more leg work I do the faster they come home.

Absolutely.

I will also spread word with my buddies and other dealers at the 1500 coming up at the end of the month. With as many guns that walk around there and change hands, there is a chance they could show up there.

If you don't mind and have them....IM me the serial numbers.

Since you loaned them willingly can you report them stolen or will police say its a civil matter ?

I beleive it will be more of a civil than legal matter if it comes to that, however I do have a letter that I made them sign as a just incase clause Stating that they agreed that the firearm may be considered stolen if not returned. But none the less I did verify who had it they gave me the S/N's that matched The person is in FL on a construction contract that could be independantly verified... I have made arrangements with the individual in question for thwn they return on the 19th to retreive my weapons. I learned my lesson and won't loan anything out of my sight... I also have conacted the coursts and have all the documentation I need to start a civil suit to get my weapons back. I'm glad they didn't wind up at a pawn shop somewhere but if it falls through I'll let you know. Thank you all for the support it's greatly appriciated. I was younger and dumber when I lent them out... Never again.
