I feel strange asking for feedback, how do you go about asking for it if not left?
We have went back and forth like 16 times on an item I sold. I had to follow up with the buyer a few times to see if the buyer received the package.
No geedback posted and I feel strange asking for the buyer to leave feedback, I have left feedback for the buyer already...
I typically just send a msg asking for feedback.
Something like " I'm glad you're satisfied with the deal. Please don't forget to leave feedback for me as I have done for you."

This. I will ask once and if they don't have the common courtesy to comply after that move on.
do not hesitate!!!
I forget all the time, life is busy, need a reminder sometimes.
Very few times have I gotten feedback from a seller that I have purchased from and left them feedback. I just don't let it bother me.

You'll run into this quite a bit. It's not even worth it to pursue. I recommend keeping a separate word document with people's screen names/names so you can remember not to deal with them in the future.
I'm missing 3 or 4. I usually say, "Got it, left feedback. Would appreciate the same in return".
I'll always give feedback, I'll mention it at some point during the deal. Something like, "received xyz, thanks, feedback left." It doesn't really bother me if I don't get feedback, I'm missing around 10 that didn't leave any.
Always a good thing to mention it. I don't care if people are straight forward or beat around the bush on it. I'm gettin old in my young age and I have to have some form of rememberance to give it. Best to use someone elses thought process that still works.
