Mini rant of a EE deal.

So I message a guy about a lot with multiple items and we haggle a bit and he decides that X plus half of shipping is as low as he'll go. Im not very fond of the open ended shipping so I offer a little more. He says no and wants to check shipping cost first. I offer a little more and he counters with X+$40. Which I think is a little high so I back off. We still talk back and forth via text and decide to see what shipping is Monday. So when I havent heard anything by Monday evening when Im about 20min from going to work I text to see whats up. He calls right back and is at UPS getting things boxed up. I say ok and to call when he gets the price. Didnt get a call so I text to see whats up as im walking into work. Dude shipped it without letting me know the price and it was $150 and expected me to cover half. Ended up settleing on me paying $50 towards shipping cause I felt bad even though it was $10 more than even his shipped price offer.

I definitely think that he should of told you the price BEFORE shipping, but at least you worked out a deal.

That sounds about right for that weight and it being UPS. What were you expecting? Personally I wouldn't have shipped it for that price before talking to you.....but what are you bitching about? That you paid $10 extra so the guy would ship 165 lbs of stuff to you?

What it really sounds like is you were trying to corner him into a small shipping price by pressing him into a firm shipping price before he could get a quote. 165lbs of stuff and you had a problem with X+$40?

Not the case at all. It was a big mixed lot of shooting items that I was fine paying X for but he kept throwing in extra items and was pretty vauge about the quantity and ended up skyrocketing the weight. And Im not sure the items were worth their shipping weight. Sorry Im trying to be cryptic on purpose so people dont figure out what ad it was since things sould work out fine. Packages should be here tomorrow.

I guess i just don't get it. I don't see why you're ranting about anything. You're an adult, you could've said no thanks to any of the items. Obviously you knew they were going to weigh quite a bit. If you're trying to be so cryptic, then it's obviously not important enough to rant/bitch/complain about.
IMO it was cool of you to kick in the extra $10 but shitty to come here and complain about the deal.
