I picked up a complete A1 upper at gun show it appears like New old stock it was very dry when I got it. Like it had never seen any kind of lubricate. I oiled it up with clp looks brand spackin new . Here are the specs
Barrel 20" pencil marked CMP B on bottom of barrel close to flash suppressor end, the BCG is marked C on the full auto carrier and MP on the bolt. The upper reciever is marked CK under rear sight on carry handle and 1 armory marking on front side of reciever up by gas port. small take down pins. . The handguards have drain holes and one is marked with an L the other has a mark but cant read it.. The Finish on the receiver is that dark black almost purple looking black, with grey teflon coating inside. After lubricating this upper it appears brand new. Is this an Old Colt upper that was never used or a reproduction?
Yeah , I gave $400.00 for it . Maybe to much but worth it to me
I'm going to say its a COLT M16A1 upper from the mid 1970's New old stock
Just never seen one in New condition before
I didnt know they tefflon coated the inside back then either. I know Bushmaster has done that for a long time
I've seen C MP C for colt barrel markings but not C MP B wasnt sure about the B
The anadize is a really dark black and perfect, ( to New Looking)

It ought to be worth $250 or so, maybe $300

Hope you didn't pay too much for it.
