Seller acceped my offer as the link shows and asked for payment. He wanted to use PayPal, I asked if he was sure, he then sent me an email saying he was selling it to another buyer which he talked to on the phone but was never confirmed on the site.

So here is what happened and I did explain it to Muddly with regret..

When I created this new post, I was inundated with replies, via PM and my personal email. In talking to Mike on my way to lunch ( no access to pc ) and this was well before Muddly had posted "I'll take it", Mike verbally told me that he would take it.. I asked him to update the post with that so there are no issues.. From what I understand, he did.. Came back from lunch, replied to a few more users then looked at my post and saw Muddly said he would take it.. At the time , I did send Muddly an email with instructions to complete the transaction.. Afterwards , I realized this was not the same person who I talked to on my way to lunch - Mike a.k.a. wicked07.

I now have a dilemma.. I thought I did what was right, verbal communication I feel should superceed the i'll take it as I can not control other users after I asked them to update the post with I'll take it.

I sent Muddly a reply explaining what happened, he seemed to have sympathized with the situation. Said he would not leave negative feedback

He posted the feedback at my request after he told me what had happened.

So "Mike" that you spoke to on the phone didn't do what you asked him to and you thought that muddly's post was his and responded with payment instructions to him thinking it was "Mike"?

So why not just sell it to muddly since your other buyer neglected to follow your instructions to post in the ad to consummate the deal?

Since there was a verbal communication with Mike I'm obligated to go through with the sale..

Especially since he still has yet to post in the WTS thread.

No, not really, you told him to post in the ad which he still has not done so to me he violated the terms of that deal which make it null and void.

You did however make a deal with someone (muddly) that did post "i'll take it" in your ad so to back out on that deal is welching and that is not tolerated here.

If you don't complete the deal with muddly you've committed a sellers welch and could be banned from the site for such.

Still not sure what all the fuss is about.. Muddly said he understood and there was no ill will and said he would not leave negative feedback ( I have the email on that ). Still not sure why the moderators are giving me a hard time and still dragging this out. It was an honest mistake by a person that should have posted I'll take it when he was suppose to .. Again, I can not control forum members actions on this forum or any other.

I have bought and sold a lot here with no problems. IMO, I think banning is a bit excessive and childish to say the least.

First off I'm not giving you a hard time, welching on a deal here regardless the excuse is very serious and banning welchers is SOP.

Also trying to shift the blame for your mistake onto other members actions or lack there of is very poor form IMHO.

This all could have been avoided with a little due diligence on your part to make sure who you were entering into a deal with.

I am curious though, how exactly did "Mike" get your phone number without you knowing who he was on here?

Whoa guys. I'm not aware of all the details of Eric's communications with everyone, but I can tell you that he and I have dealt in the past and I have his number from our prior sale. I saw his posting, called him about it, and we set up a place to meet to finalize the sale.

It sounds like a case of mistaken identity and / or confusion with all the other guys. If a mod wants to re-open his thread, I'll post in it.

But otherwise I can vouch for Eric and his account of what happened between he and I. Don't forget that he had 2 pistols for sale in the same thread and may have been talking about the second one as opposed to the Kimber that he and I dealt on.

I can understand some hard feelings, but I think any official action is overboard in this situation.

OK now I'm REALLY confused, if you guys have done deals prior to this how did the OP get confused about who muddly was and mistakenly make a deal with him?

I have sold to Mike - Wicked07 in the past.. I can't remember what I ate last night let alone all the transactions, users screen names I have talked to , kinda of hard to keep track when your a member of multiple forums.

Again, I can not control others, if they don't put feedback I can not force them.. How about this, look up my other transactions/posts and you'll see 90 % of my posts were to either buy or sell.

Nobody has asked you to control what others do, we only ask you control yourself and honor your word to other members here....is that really too much to ask?
