Is this guy military? Chain of commands tend to look down on this type of stuff. AKO should be able to get you his unit/information. LMK if you need me to look.

Everyone:

No I am not Military currently. I am a contractor.

I sent him this Spyderco knife on 21 Dec 2011 and insured it for $100 which he has a copy of the customs form and the insurance form(which I sent to him on Dec 26 2011 by email). I mailed it from Bagram Airfield.

When I went to the post office and checked the status of this, they said the tracking number showed it was delivered. AFTERWHICH I did put it for sale as I didnt need it.

He emailed me with the questions of "why are you selling MY knife?". I told him the post office said it was delivered and that is why. He said he didnt receive it after I told him it takes 10-14 business days to get stateside and the post office said it delivered. This email came on exactly day 10 (including weekends) from when it was shipped. If you all want copies of the emails I can provide them no issues here. I told him that the Post Office said it was delivered, he said in his experiences the POst Office is normally wrong.

Afterwhich he wanted his knife back and told me to file an insurance claim. I couldnt do an insurance claim until after a MINIMUM of 21 says which was Jan 11th (inwhich I did as I am not sending this guy $100) WITHOUT the Post office saying they would cover this as a lost items AFTER they told me it was delivered from the tracking number. Which I emailed him photo copies of this as well to show proof it was filed since he was so eager to have me file a Insurance LOST item claim after just 10days from the day it shipped from Bagram AFGHAN. All those that have deployed know it can take 10-14 BUSINESS days and maybe up to 30 if during holidays.

OH AND TO CLARIFY, HE TOLD ME TO SEND HIM THE MONEY FOR THE KNIFE AND CLAIM THE INSURANCE CLAIM MYSELF OR SEND HIM THE MONEY, CLAIM THE INSURANCE CLAIM AND IF THE KNIFE SHOWS UP EVENTUALLY HE WOULD SEND ME MONEY BACK. SO NOOO I DIDNT SAY I WOULD CLAIM THE INSURANCE CLAIM . DARRELL TOLD ME TO.

Out of everyone here on AR15.com and other sites I have sold items to, he is the ONLY person not to receive his package as he claims even though the insurance tracking from the Post office says it was delivered to the address he specified which I can produce as well if needed.

I am a VERY well respected person in the community and before you go trying to OUST me or track who I am after you have my person email, phone number, my Personal COMPANY email ( As if Im trying to hide from you or anyone else) might want to keep this in house. I have had nothing but positive dealings here on AR15 and other well respected forums as well as in the SOF/EOD/Conv Military as well. You even told me you were looking at wanting to be a Pilot and I was courteous enough to give you information I was given when I inquired about that as well recently. So if I were you Id keep your ducks in a row. You will get your insurance claim refund as I have explained the situation to the post master. I was informed you will be contacted and the item investigated as if you did receive this item and are trying to extort more money back as he claims this sounds like a scammer, you will be prosecuted for Mail Fraud. If you didnt receive it you will get the $100 insurance claim which covers the cost of a New Benchmade Griptillian and shipping to your house for it.

Thank you all for reading and if you want to contact me please email me at loki4606@gmail.com, same email he has as well.

You need to delete his name. It's up to the staff for that if it reaches HOS.

Email sent to Darell in response to his email to my sales department of my company and to answer his questions here.

MODS if you care to want to be a third party mitigator I don't mind at all as I will be willing to send all emails, forms, etc to you to review and compare to his if need be. There would be no legal precedence from my corporate lawyers if you feel you need to mitigate this minor incident.

The following is a copy/paste of the exact email I sent Darell, so there is no confusion on any two parties on what was said and not. I have omitted last names, email address, IP Addresses and computer name/locations for OPSEC/PERSEC.

This incident in no way has discerned me from dealing with others on AR15 as there are mature class people here that I deal with regularly. I will be posting the actual Customs and Insurances forms plus the PS1000 Insurance claim forms here shortly once I can get the names/address blacked out for OPSEC/PERSEC reasons.

And me not emailing consistently? Almost every email has been within a couple min to a hour or two apart from when you email me. I am DEPLOYED to Afghanistan and am not on a computer 24/7 plus being 10.5hr ahead I am not awake sometimes when you email me due to the time difference. I do not have a cell phone that gets emails instantly here. Even though I do miss the days of having instant email, here it is a little different and those that have been here can attest to this as well. But you have gotten responses in the same day if not in the same 12 hr period of when you emailed me.

"Darell:

You sent an email to my sales department (sales@scpsecurity.com) of my
company. My corporation owns this company plus two others as well.

What am I going to do about this you asked in an earlier email. I filed
the claim for the insurance claim that I sent you in an email for a lost
item. Actually my wife did stateside as it would take additional time to
be mailed in from Afghanistan. She went in today and delivered it to our
local POST OFFICE. They told her to give them until next week to file it
and get back to her about when it will be refunded (as they cannot call me
from the USA here in Afghanistan. If you can wait until next week and they
clear it, I will have my secretary send a Company check to you for the
replacement amount of the knife ( and agreed upon trade value of the knife
exchange) so you can purchase another one or get one you actually like.

Also, I never said I broke the tip off the Benchmade, I said I broke the
top off MY knife (which was a ZT0300) and kept the Benchmade to use(reason
for not selling it). But you will get your money back on this as I never
had a bad deal in all the years I've been selling items and dealing with
my clients from all parts of the world.

I will be posting this email up on AR15.com so everyone can see plus I
will be posting the Insurance/customs forms + the insurance claim form
PS1000 on their as well once I black out the last names and physical
addresses for OPSEC/PERSEC reasons.

Don't worry I wont do what you did and post full names on an open forum.
That is military trade craft 101 no-no to do . It violates PERSEC/OPSEC.
When you get in and become a Pilot,as I hope you do, you will learn the
value of PERSEC/OPSEC.

You say I am scamming you on the forum. I simply wrote the POST MASTER who
is the head of the post office and in a Federal Agent capacity for the
POST OFFICE stated it sounded like a scam to him.

You asked why I didn't call you and I did put that in an email to you. I
am 10.5 hr ahead of you. When I went in at 10am to get the POST MASTER on
this, it was 1130pm-ish your time in KS. I wasn't going to call and wake
you on that when I could simply email you instead out of common courtesy.

So all in all this will get settled. You will get your money back and I
will get the USPS to investigate this incident and refund me the insurance
claim to cover the cost. Whether you have the knife or not is now
irrelevant as once they issue the refund that box is then stopped wherever
it is in the system and becomes USPS property so if you never got it you
will never get it after they do the insurance claim refund and you will
have your money all in all.

I hope this is satisfactory for you as mail is never 100% accurate 99% of
the time. Sorry for your time and effort you had to put in this as it is
never easy. I know I'm nearly half way around the globe from you as we
speak and know how things go.

All in all everything will be righted one way or another. If this is
satisfactory please let me know on email and on the forum thread you
started. If not then we will have to come to another arrangement whether 1
on 1 or with legal council. I sincerely hope we can come to an
understanding and rectify this in a mature manner. Thank you for your time.

didnt have internet last night as it snowed here and it went out. Had to wait to get to work. And your email was last night you asked what answer was from the Insurance claim not within 3 days(just got it when i got in this morning for work and checked email. If you see my last post here was an email to you that was within the last 3 days ////

Yesterday was a Federal Holiday (MLK Day) and the USPS was closed. Its been two business days ( Friday and yesterday that was a Federal Holdiday) since it was dropped off at the USPS office in my home town. In my email to you and on here I asked you give it a week to let them answer. You cant expect USPS to work on a Federal Holiday and within two days of it being sent in. Once I get the word you and everyone here will know what they answered with. I say a week as thats what I was told to wait to get an answer from the Post Master here. So once I know you most definitely will know. Thank you for your patience.

I did try to call you back yesterday as you left me a message and I sent you an email telling you that I called. When I got in I had to get a new sim card from Verizon as my old one didnt work. But I did call and I did leave you a voice mail. I will be out of the country starting here in about 2 hours until Tuesday night. My wife and I are going on our long awaited honeymoon. I will call you Wednesday again to follow up with you and try to establish contact with you again at that time. Thanks

This. It's enough to make you tear your hair out, but you have to be patient as claims can take months to resolve.

OK,

I did call you back and there was no specification(time frames) on when to call you when you left your message. I did state in my voice mail to you that my wife and I were going out of the country for our honeymoon and I would contact you when I got back if you didn't call me back that evening. I see you called me the next morning after we had already started our trip. I did email you last night that I returned and to call me when you had a chance this weekend, so I will attempt to contact you here instead.

To the one that asked why the buyer was made known of the insurance claim, if you read the previous posts, I was making sure the USPS would actually honor the insurance claim as they are saying when they tracked the package it was noted as delivered to the Darrell. So I have been going back and forth with the USPS on this and they were trying to contact Darrell to question him on this but still had no answer from him. So before I dished out a $$ refund, I was CMA since the USPS Post Master was explaining to me this looks like a fraud attempt. Out of everyone I have sold to here on AR15 and other respectable forums he was the only one not to get his package. And if you notice on the form there is a spot where you can have the insurance claim delivered to the BUYER or the SELLER which I selected the BUYER.

So here is the update. From the voice mail I got from Darrell was to contact him when I got the chance and I did when I arrived back yesterday and from USPS leaving me a message that they can't get a hold of Darrell and are asking me of any other way to contact him (which I didn't know you were not home until after COB M-F) so would make it harder for them to contact you. I thought the number you gave e was your cell and not a home number ( makes a difference when trying to contact you especially when the USPS is a 9-5pm M-F business).

So when you have time contact me and we will work thru this issue instead of constantly talking back and forth on AR15.

Thanks

Loki

This is the first time I've ever seen the mods/staff make the buyer wait for an insurance claim to be processed by the seller for goods not received. Almost every instance I can recall the seller was advised to reimburse the buyer post haste and deal with the insurance process themselves as the purchasing agent of said insurance.

Not taking sides, just an observation.

I had to send the money back to my buyer immediately after the post office lost my $400 noveske barrel and I had to wait for my refund

If not I was going to be locked from the EE

I've decided to handle it this way because I think it's your best shot at getting this issue resolved given the circumstances. He does sound like he wants to resolve the issue.

I can threaten to ban him, but that'll pretty much kill any chance you have of getting your knife (or at least money) back. It that what you want?

Ok to satisfy not only the buyer but the rest of the people commenting on this thread, I am going to go ahead and sent Darrell the $85 for the knife trade. I have already emailed a MOD on this yesterday.

So Darrell since you are unavailable until whatever time you are out of school ( Are you in High School still?) I would advise you email or contact me as I said per my last statement calling you and leaving messages waiting for you to call is playing phone tag and wont solve this any faster. BUT I will advise, yes you are getting the $85 for the knife that was traded for your as per the beginning of this thread on the trade amount only. Second IF USPS will not do the insurance claim due to the fact they state their records show it was delivered I will have my corporate lawyers contact you (or your parents if you are under the state legal age of adulthood) and you will see us in court (even if its small claims) and I will make sure that the USPS Investigator research into the fact you maybe committing mail Fraud ( This is if they wont honor the claim, but if you are telling the truth then you have nothing to worry about and we will go on our merry own ways).

Understand, I am doing this to cause ease here on this AR15 board, as I like visiting here and doing some small (get rid of extra gear) business with others. There have been numerous people I have sold things to here and they are all happy customers and hope to continue to do good business with them as well. I myself am a MOD on another forum so I don't like to see displeased members on here.

So Darrell, email me or contact me with EITHER a Paypal account info or a CORRECT good address ( Ill have my secretary send you a corporate check) today Monday Feb 13 by COB ( 5pm).

Thanks and I am sorry everyone that decided to comment here had to get involved in some matter or fashion. Especially to the MOD Wilson, than you for your understanding and explanations on how things work.

Loki

Just because someone buys something from someone here doesn't mean they have to leave feedback here. I am in constant email with them and we discuss when the items arrive and their impressions on it. I never make it mandatory for people to leave me feedback here. Thanks for the inquiry though.

0 feedback,11posts in 9 months when ad was started, no refund to buyer in over 2 months for $85, sorry but I will have to call bs. Now you say corprate lawyers will get involved over $85 and you will take him to small claims court and all will cost thousands if not tens of thousands, sorry this is getting funny.

It may not be mandatory, but it is a gauge on how well you deal with your transactions on this sight. Its in your best interest to make sure they follow up so future buyers/sellers know what kind of person you are. Why would you not request it to be done if the deal went as planned? Did you leave feedback?

Actually its a $35 filing fee and nice thing is if it does get this far, he will be stuck with all the court costs if he is found at fault unless he has a damn good lawyer on his side. So do your research before you start stating incorrect facts. And yes my corporate lawyers are on my retainer so I can ask them what I want from them, that's the point of having them on my payroll ;).

Payment has been sent for $85, now can we get back on schedule here. This has been a rope-a-dope from the beginning.

Darrell just heed the previous message on this issue, its not over until USPS commits and confirms. I will email you here and on your email when they contact me on the insurance claim outcome.

Wilson thanks for your help and patience.

I don't force someone to do it as most done care to do it and making them may not want them to repeat sales with you. Also if I am in contact with them through email or phone why would I need to come here to see the same response. In honesty sometimes No I don't post feedback. Its not a crime and I haven't had anyone grip, whine or cry I didn't do it, nor file that they wont sell to me again.

Its just a matter of personal preference.
