Did both the 91 and 93 come with bipods? Does Saco being the importer make the gun worth less?
Im looking to purchase one or the other but love the bipod option.
Factory rigs came with the wide forearm with metal biped clip part on the end of the forearm, but neither came with the bipod on the rifle (Bipod is a factory accessory that you could buy separate).
As for factory guns, there is the ones out of HK Germany, then some factory build guns out of other country (produced on HK machinery), then receivers that came into the states, then build with parts kits, then later on usa produced receivers and complete rifle.
So on that note, double check the markings on the Saco rifle. It should read Saco as the importer, but HK Germany as the manufacturer. Saco imported the rifles into the states before HK usa started to import them afterwards. Also with the age of the rifle, may be that someone swapped the stock set on the gun to a slim forearm if the forearm does not have the bipod metal clip slot on it.
My 91 paratrooper came with one, I paid $2200 years ago locally.. One of my favorite pieces...

Actually, HK Germany bought Security Arms Corp, (SACO) and formed HK Inc and then had the facility built in Chantilly.
