Ptr-32 /52k trunion kit question
Hey guys, was recommended by ghilliebear to order this towards a 52k build i want to do , this kit http://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/PTR-32-7-62-X-39-Custom-Build-Kit-298p948.htm , well I was reading the details and it seems that it's a 308 receiver from what knowledge I know but it says something about 762x39 inserts that are already installed. Well based upon looking at different sites And did not see any 762x39 inserts ( or what I think would be trunions ) . So being the research type that I am I called up hkparts and the phone was answered by someone other than Adam as apparently he was in a meeting when I called their main number. The guy told me that the 762x39 insert was the welded in paddle mag release but that answer doesn't seem right to me as I would think that Adam would mark it as a 762x39 paddle release. Also what makes the x39 insert different from the 308 trunions or are they they same and just marketed differently.

Dude is a straight shooter.
I've never seen a commercial X39 but suspect that the inserts are to narrow the mag well to accept the mags. There would need to be a change in the paddle to latch the mags as well. The hardest part of my X39 build was getting the AK mag to fit right.
