Need help! HK91 clone failing to feed and eject
Guys,
I bought a Springfield Armory SAR-8 that I had a G3k conversion done along with a complete refinishing. Well I got my rifle back and she looks great, but I had several problems whiile trying to shoot her at the range for the first time. With a full magazine in the weapon, she didn't want to chamber a round several times. It seemed like the bolt didn't have enough power to strip the round of the top of the magazine. I did notice that the bolt carrier doesn't slide back and forth inside the receiver with out being pushed... it seems to be a little stiff in the back of the receiver just before you pull out the carrier. I was thinking that the new finish might be thick in some areas inside the receiver and she might need to be broken in? Any idea of what's going on?
Thanks,

Did it have this problem before the refinish? Does the stock come off and go back on easily?

The stock fits fine... I've only fired 40rds of surplus MKE ammo so far. I never fired her until now.
Thanks,

You never test fired it before sending it off for gunsmithing work and refinish?
I can't believe Mark didn't test fire it before returning.

He did... He fired 10rds w/out any issues. Im going to buy a 100rd battle pack of South African surplus and see what happens.
Wish me luck!

Did you talk to Mark before posting here?
underpowered ammo, locking piece, could be a few things
Some clarification.
You sent me a factory SAR 8 thumbhole with pitting in the muzzle. I cut the barrel back to 15", removing the pitting, threaded it, and soldered on a muzzle device. I refinished the rifle and installed your supplied 7 US parts and gave you a free trigger job. I also range tested it for you, at no charge. I do not testfire unless I do work related to sight alignment or function, which threading your barrel isn't. 10 rounds of mixed Portuguese and South African. It cycled fine. I recommended you replace your badly corroded bolt, but told you I did not think it would cause a functional issue.
When you e-mailed me that you were having trouble with your Turkish surplus ammo, I asked you to try a different brand of ammo and get back to me - which you never did. But you come on here with your "complaint"? Your post is deceptive at best. I did not "build" you anything. I threaded your barrel and refinished your factory gun that you had never fired since buying it used and rusted from someone else.
I warranty all my work, but there is nothing in the function of your rifle that I "worked on". As a subcontractor for HK USA Repair department, I am pretty familiar with the HK rifle, and confident that I reassembled it correctly. Since you chose not to try any of the ammunition types I recommended (South African, German, Portuguese, Australian, British), or to get back to me with the results, there is nothing more I can do for you. And after this post, there is nothing more I want to do for you.
GD is that way––––->
Mark,
You did nothing wrong! The rifle looks very nice! Please don't take my post here as if you did anything wrong.
