PTR-91 trunion issues.

Hey guys,
Just letting my fellow Arfcomers aware of an issue with PTR rifles purchased within the last year.... My particular rifle was purchased from CDNN this past February. I've shot approximately 250 rounds of mixed 7.62Nato, including Radway, M80 ball and South African.
I noticed after my first range session my bolt gap had dropped from .017 to .010. I shrugged it off knowing spec is all the way down to .004. After my 2nd and last range session I checked and it had dropped to .008. I did a detailed cleaning and noticed nothing out of the ordinary in the bolt group. I pulled the hand guard off and inspected, right then I discovered a crack at the 8 'o'clock position running all the way through the trunion. I checked PTR's website and found this I've posted some photos for you guys to see. Check your gun if your bolt gap is disappearing or your getting a lot of malfunctions. And of course PTR is shipping the rifle both ways on their dime. Mine's on the UPS truck as I type this.

There is a bunch of info about this over at hkpro. My GI had a cracked trunion as well. It took them about a month to get my rifle back bt they did a good job fixing it.

Has this issue been pretty much cleared up now with the run of GI 91 rifles that were doing this? I've been saving up for one of these as a primary BR and don't want to purchase a headache if the new runs are still doing this.

I thought I had read they claim only about 50 rifles were effected by the oversize pins causing the cracked trunions.

I think if you go to the ptr website it gives the #'s on those effected. I looked at mine and its way above the #'s effected. I got mine a month ago, so get one with confidence.

Update: Got a tracking number yesterday and mine is already on its way back. Kudos to PTR for getting me taken care of in such a timely manner.
