FA FAL
The receiver on my rifle says
FA FAL FAC industries of of america
I cannot find any info on this, does anyone know anything about it?
FAC was a company that went out of business about 8 years ago, they were in Minnesota and dealt in a lot of surplus parts.
Is the receiver an Imbel or a Coonan, it should say on the side?
Are you sure it doesn't say FN FAL?
Just curious.
It says
FA-FAL .30 CAL F.A.C of AMERICA, INC. FRIDLEY, MN
D.C. INDUSTRIES, INC. ST. PAUL,MN NO.XXXXX
Is does not say Imbel or Coonan anywhere.
I would post a picture, but I cant figure out how to.
I wish it said FN FAL
I believe DC stands for Dan Coonan.
The receiver is U.S. made, metric pattern. Designed and manufactured by DC Industries Inc, sold by FAC Of America. The receiver is machined from an investment casting, and parkerized. The 'FA" was short for 'Federal Arms', which was another business name for FAC Of America. The receiver was made about 8-12 years ago.
FAC Of America is out of business, and DC Industries Inc is currently inactive, but the principal of DC Industries is currently part of Coonan Inc. Coonan Inc is a current manufacturer of FAL and L1A1 receivers.
Thanks for the replies and the info!
