Any suggestions on storing loaded M14 mags?? Can any problems be excepted if they are stored 6 months loaded up?

Shouldn't be a problem.

I ran across a GI mag. that I had last loaded up in about 1980- it ran just fine! AND those old reloads (4064 & some Sierra 165 hpbt- with a huge hollow point- the old box of bullets had a price tag of $11.49...), grouped under 2"..

Thanks for the responses. All the evidence I have found about "magazine spring set" are old wife's tales. Some stories never die.

Spring set may have been a issue 100+ years ago. Today's spring steel does not weaken when compressed, cycling the spring well wear it.

I commonly leave my hunting mags loaded from year to year. So far, no issues with 60's era USGI mags. I have been doing this for over 5 years.

My loaded M1A magazines have been loaded for over 30 years. They get unloaded from time to time at the range but other wise they remain loaded. No issues. Someday I might buy some replacement springs.
